...has anyone on here had access or owned the Dell Inspiron Duo - flippable netbook/tablet ?

Just wondering if this is a 'useable' item or just a 'near miss ' compromise' ?

Not used one. There was a fad for flippables but they never really took off. Check the weight and battery life - I expect you'll be disappointed with both.

I almost forgot about those, though I remember more the ones where the screen rotated.

Anyway, weight:1.54 kg battery life 4hrs OS windows 7 pro + 'stage' software

vs for ipad
weight: 652 g, battery life 10hrs OS - iOS

Only things in the Dell's favour are Windows, if you have particlar software that is Win only, and a keyboard

For a similar price you can pick up the Asus Transformer, (or the Prime for £600) far more tempting bits of kit.

The new Atom's are out so expect some new lighter designs.

Chrome OS will no doubt make use of quad core ARM chips so that might be here soon too.
