Not quite a tablet - BUT ?
...has anyone on here had access or owned the Dell Inspiron Duo - flippable netbook/tablet ?
Just wondering if this is a 'useable' item or just a 'near miss ' compromise' ? |

Not used one. There was a fad for flippables but they never really took off. Check the weight and battery life - I expect you'll be disappointed with both.

I almost forgot about those, though I remember more the ones where the screen rotated.
http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-duo/pd Anyway, weight:1.54 kg battery life 4hrs OS windows 7 pro + 'stage' software vs for ipad weight: 652 g, battery life 10hrs OS - iOS Only things in the Dell's favour are Windows, if you have particlar software that is Win only, and a keyboard For a similar price you can pick up the Asus Transformer, (or the Prime for £600) far more tempting bits of kit. |

The new Atom's are out so expect some new lighter designs.
Chrome OS will no doubt make use of quad core ARM chips so that might be here soon too. |
