I bought this yesterday and it has 2 great songs a very funky/dancy song and a great slow one from 'Bridget's Jones's Diary 2'. Do u llike them. I was at Number 8 in Woolworths charts but it might be higher in the official.Discuss

Preferred the Sam Brown original of Stop but Jamelia doesnt do a bad job at all.

They are both great songs; its just a shame that neither of them are on the original release of her album...which I bought!

The thing I find with Jamelia is that I like her but her voice isn't that strong. She really shouldn't have tried to cover 'Stop' because her voice just isn't good enough for that song.....the other one's OK though.

Have to say I agree with you...the Sam Brown original of that song is perfect. What's the point in doing a note for note cover (right down to the intro...it's identical!) just to show you aren't as good as you thought you were?

I think her voice is terribly nasal on that song, which is a shame as she's proved time and time again that she does have a good voice.

I think her cover of "Stop" shows that her voice isn't exceptional however.

Both the backing and the vocals in the Jamelia version of "Stop!" don't remotely compare to Sam Brown's original, which is on her (excellent) album of the same name. Just saw on the promo video - yes, there is one - for the Jamelia track and even the video is pretty useless (just Jamelia to camera with loads of clips of the Bridget Jones 2 movie of course) compared to the original Stop! video by Sam.

Sam's albums can be hard to find though, but every one she's released so far (5 studio albums at the last count) is just great. I consider her the UK's finest female vocalist around today - she's done a project with Dave Rotheray (from the Beautiful South) called "Homespun" and I really must pick up their self-titled debut album...
