Katie performed as well as Stella did with the boys in series 6, but had the major disadvantage of a f&b task (rather then an inventing task).

Lord Sugar has (basically) said that he will fire her on her next boardroom visit, but I am not so sure about that (apart from Duane and perhaps Nick, none of the other candidates are better then her).

If the production guys hadn't have stuffed up then Phoenix would have won and Katie would have deserved it for being a good PM. I agree as well that she is the best girl by far and I reckon Nick could be leading with Duane and Katie not far behind. Hopefully Claude hasn't just let slip that Katie didn't make the interview stage, although Claude can still dislike her even if she did.

Yes obviously Sterling won but there was disharmony in their team and they messed the product up so couldn't do the taste test. Why are points never brought even if a team wins?

Also why didn't Phoenix go back to the posh shop they taste tested with as they seemed to want to buy the ketchup?

Enjoyed this task a lot. I did think Ricky should have gone. Sugar himself pretty much acknowledged it was his fault they lost, but I think he saw Michael as a weaker candidate.

Those who said Maria wasn't very interesting on last week's YF should note that at least they didn't have to resort to showing old clips of Claude doing interviews and Tom.

So right. That said more about Michael's complete dullness than any board room showdown ever could. Poor Dara.

At last, after a couple of shaky firings this one was a fairly standard one. Felt it was the right decision, Michael looked like a mouse trying to do business in a cat's world.

I've just watched this episode and feel the right decision was made this week. Katie and Ricky both held up really well in the board room. I actually didn't think it was Katie's fault the team failed at all this week and would have been happy with either of the two boys being fired.

So? That can happen. In series 1, the first firings were Adenike, Lindsay, Miranda and Adele - four women fired before any men were fired.

Yeah, but even Jenna would give those women a run for their money

People rate the first 2 series for the business like behaviour, but especially series 1 had the worst candidates in that respect (only series 4 rivals it).

Every year at least one contestant seems to 'tune out' of this process and either appears to have given up or just looks lost, and this year it was Michael. Perhaps they realise the process just isn't for them or feel out of their depth, but they make it very easy for them to be fired. He gave up. The rest of the boardroom was just for show imho. Michael had 'fire me' written all over him all episode. He had a bit of fire towards the end of the boardroom but it was a token gesture really.

I wonder if it is only me who feels this, but have you noticed that when Lord Sugar first walks into the boardroom, in most episodes, he seems to glance at the side walls, for some reason, before looking ahead in the direction of the candidates, as he walks towards his chair. To me, this 'glancing' appears to be a purely involuntary, nervous reaction, on his part. I may be completely wrong about this, but that is how it appears to me. Maybe, even Sugar, is not immune from showing the odd bit of butterflies at the thought of the stress of the boardroom!

I hadn't noticed. He may be looking at a director, eg to confirm the shot is going ahead. The boardroom is a film set; there is probably no wall where he is looking. They need loads of space for cameramen etc.

No, I don't believe so, as he varies where, and at what height, he is glancing. In Link 1 (in my previous post), he glances at his eye-level and to his right; In Link 2, he glances higher up than his eye-level and to his left, and in Links 3&4, he glances higher up than his eye-level and to his right. It appears to be pretty random to me. Even if the Directors, Cameraman etc are alternating between the left and the right sidelines, I don't think that they will be needing to vary their vantage points from one episode to the next in order for him to look upwards in one episode, then at eye-level on the next.

This is going to be one of those things that I'll always be looking out for and will bother me now. From the examples you've provided it does seem like he does it quite often!

I'll add it to Rachel's singing face in Glee and Max shuffling his feet in EastEnders (which I now notice no matter what I do).

On a similar point, I've noticed Chris Tarrant's left arm constantly twitches very noticably in every 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire', during the shots of him standing up and speaking to camera before asking the initial question to the contestants.
