My favourite thing he says is not a quote from him, it was no doubt written for him to say. And in all the series of The Apprentice the scriptwriters have never once got that phrase correct. Though for the last two series they changed it so it is now almost correct, they just need to change one word. I will cheer the day that they finally realise!

It was originally something like:

"The team that wins will get a treat of my choosing. And the team that loses...one of you will be fired."

That made no grammatical sense. So they finally inserted a preposition. Sadly, they chose the wrong one. He now says:

"The team that wins will get a treat of my choosing. And in the team that loses, one of you will be fired."

One day they will change the "in" to "from" - they are fired from the team, not fired in the team. Or they could say "out of". But "in'" is a bit odd.

I love grammar. But I also accept that the rules are there to be broken provided you understand them in the first place.

That "The team that loses, one of you will be fired" has always suggested to me that "The team that loses" is simply an address - so it's basically, "All of you down there - one of you will be fired!" You hear the first bit (Oi you) and take on board the next bit. Not sophisticated, not polite but effective.
