I was gonna come in here with a nice reply about how nobody will know whether she'll match her success and how nobody thought she'd match the success of 19, but then I read this thread and all this real music bollocks and I'm not interested anymore.

Therefore if you admit classic albums are subject to opinion, why do you insist on shooting down anyone who thinks 21 is a classic album? Why you can't you see it as their opinion and move on instead of constantly posting on these forums. Cant recall saying classic albums are people opinions at all, classic albums are often accepted as classics even by people who dont like the artist.
A classic album normally has to make a unique impact or is a "game changer" in the music genre its in, it inspires other artists, is normally faultless musically from start to finish with no weak tracks on the album along with the more technical side of things like production, engineering e.t.c but dont wanna start confusing people by talking about these areas.
As i have said before the word classic album or masterpeice is well over used mostly by people to try to blag up their artist or favourite album, simular overuse is the word legend.
Real classic albums dont come along very often only a handful in a decade if your lucky and are normally the pinicle of the artists career, an album never to be bettered by that artist.

None of those have had an iota of an impact on music or the music genre they are from, surely just a list of your favs.

So yet again its turned into a stan war.

You can't ever ascertain as to what is the best guitarist or a classic album etc etc a its down to opinion people consider Whats the story a classic i do not some consider this is it i would agree because its all to subject opinion and usually people don't share the same ones but think that their opinion is the only one.

So anyway Adele has peaked in terms of commercial sales its impossible to surpass 21 but her career wont founder if she continues to create great music and doesn't duet with david guetta

The Strokes debut had a massive impact on its genre, influencing all manner of bands. You're just showing your lack of knowledge.

Its gonna take more than a hack to tell me what a classic album is, i have never heard any musician publically say any of those albums are classics, am not disputing some of them on the list are not great albums but big gap between great and classic and by calling those albums classic's is undermining those albums that are real classics. People are too willing to tag an album a classic or an artist a legend without giving it any real thought.
Singles is a different matter there have been loads of classic singles but the difference between making a classic single and a classic album are worlds apart.

I cant answer your question as since 2000 there has not been a real classic album, we are certainly overdue one.

I disagree with in the industry This is it is considered a standard a bench mark and a classic as it redefined a genre an ushered in the indie trend through out the nougthies without it no The Killers, arctic monkey's etc etc

And in some respects Back To Black by some not all is considered a classic again for reasons stated above and its overall impact you could trace the current set and trend of females right back to it but in the same way it depends how somebody gauges what it is to be a classic some just are i.e dark side of the moon others are disputed whats the story

My least favorites are Love Song and He Won't Go.”

That song is the one I hate..it just drags ON...

I much prefer 19 too. 21 is good but I only tend to put it on in the background when I'm doing something else like cooking etc. I never find myself wanting to actually sit down and listen to it like I did with 19.

I agree! 19 had a really unique vibe at times-- jazzy, and at times, sounding a bit reggae-ish.

They definitely made 21 more mainstream friendly.. and holy hell did it work!!

It's funny, I really prefer 19. Nicer to blast out as a whole. I listen to various 21 tracks but not the whole album.
