This sounds like a great idea but just beware of storage costs. You want to make sure you have the right property!

We had a list of more than 50 things when we moved to this house but there weren't any dream houses around so we compromised. Most important to us was accessibility to train station and some kind of village for shopping, doctors' surgery etc and a garden. We did have good public buses when we moved here but the service certainly has eroded, hence my penchant for taxis.

yeah i agree thats what i love about the thread too we all have different opinions and we are entitled to them.

My parents did this, they found it very useful to rent near where they were thinking of moving, gave them an idea of what it would be like to live there.

Current circumstances just means lack of access to a laptop. Being cleaned out by lowlifes puts a downer on your on line activity. I can access DS thru iPod which is good as I couldn't thru my mobile.

You will be pleased to know I have a vinyl sticker of Johnny James to protect my iPod with. Custom made, one of a kind.

Loys might have kicked me to the curb but it is nice to know I am still someone here lol.

I think moving is a nightmare...its so expensive and so hard to know what you really want.....If I move I want to move closer into a town, so I can get around a bit easier......

Hubby home for two more days yet so I've got him busy doing some more DIY, third of the kitchen has been ripped out but now he's 'gone to his van' which probably means that's it for the day! At least he hasn't started sucking air through his teeth yet, that comes later when I have 'another idea'lol.

I was house buying yesterday and I'm happy to report I have now bought a 'des res'.........for the budgies haha. Not so much of a cage more of a mansion! Bank account feeling a little lighter for the experience as obviously I had to buy some new furniture and a few things to keep the little blighters entertained and they were having a sale.....must remember to hide the bill when it arrives.

This is the dilemna we're having about buying a new home. Starting to think about our old age. I know we're only in our fifties but it's all such an upheaval don't particularly want to have to do it again. So want to be near enough for shops etc but still be in a quiet area. My current dilemna is view verses a level walk to the beach.

Oh im away at my MILs, OH is trying to help them do a bit of DIY, they retired to an old french farmhouse...in the middle of nowhere...and keep meaning to update it....

It sounds idyllic.....but its expensive to restore and renovate, and my father in law has no interest or aptitude for its DIY....hence my OH volunteering to do few jobs for them.....but....its too isolated for me, and im not enamoured of my in laws at the best of times !!!!
