talking of places like area 51...I reread Fahrenheit 451 this weekend....its a very scary and prophetic book...all the talk of things in your ears to give you 24 hour sound...and the huge wall televisions.....
let alone the story.......about how books are banned and burned in the city cos they make people think.....
its enough to make me want to question everything again all over again....
although of course its never possible to have a perfect situation.....where was Fahrenheit 451 first published???
as a child I used to love Sci fi so much, and read loads of the short stories....and I find it incredible how stories written in the 50s have gadgets etc that have been invented and are used today....like the communicators from star trek, are now our mobile phones...etc...
and some of their comments about society are also fascinating......

my oldest daughter was scared of clowns, and of people dressed up as father christmas....!!!
we were the family who waited for hours in a queue to see father christmas., with various other cousins and family members ..only to have to leave just before we met him, cos she was stricken with fear......

.It is hard to believe but I am actually shocked.This is an annual publication.We submit in January and hear at Easter.Easter came and went and I called it quits,resigning to put the piece on the blog.My tutor had almost discouraged me to submit because I was published in 2011 and you can imagine how many new student writers.It was almost self belief that I submitted and thinking at I will have tried if I dont go through. My family are pleased and my daughter read through for me but first I was nominated for an Award on 23rd May and my kids are coming. Proper confidence boosters I am grateful for considering how ill I have been and we lost everything.They have had a tough time and I feel good about involving them in my fight back.

Just helped hubby take old bed apart. We are getting the mattress tomorrow and old beds taken away! Will be cleaning the room thoroughly once it arrives!
Had a lovely day sketching. I've done preliminary sketches for my 'grief' painting and finished - yup - finished the physics book and the proofs. So a bit freer to do something else.
Anyway, must get going - no John news I see.
