Can't wait for this album Sparkle - have a feeling it will be his best yet

Think he's inferred that it will be mostly pop ballads but I'd be surprised if he didn't include at least a couple of mid/uptempo numbers on it, just for some variety and because (based on his shows to-date) he enjoys moving around quite a bit (actually 'a bit' is an understatement , have given up trying to video some of his performances, can't keep track of him!) His new material will inevitably be showcased on his next tour, so I bet he'd want a couple of dancy tracks on it at least Get the impression he's still at the 'trying stuff out' stage at the moment anyway, so nothing's set in stone yet

Really hoping at least one of his self-penned songs makes it to the album, that would be really interesting. At the very least it sounds like he's getting some original material for it - yay!

So yes - extremely excited for this album - especially as we already know that Decca know how to showcase his gorgeous voice properly

I'll definitely buy it if it is original tracks, I won't be picking it up if its another covers album. I loved Wide Awake but was not a fan of his previous two albums - if he wants a long career he can't survive on just releasing cover albums, he needs some originality.

"Classic Christmas" was his third album. It didn't really do that well to be honest.

Well to be fair it was a Christmas album with about 4 weeks lifespan so I think it did OK considering the genre. It served its purpose in giving Joe some exposure over Christmas.

I too am looking forward to album #4 with, hopefully, all originals but more importantly no over production, which let Wide Awake down so badly.

I'll definitely be buying. Wide Awake was a brilliant album, and such an underrated one. I didn't bother collecting Joe's classic albums as the genre is a big turn off for me, but I love how he's proving that you don't need Simon Cowell's help to get far in showbusiness. Can't wait!

i have two words for you, michael bublé. now that is doing ok considering its genre, not joe`s top 15 effort.

Hello gpk - was wondering when you'd appear on another Joe thread
I have two words for you too: marketing & promo which Joe had considerably less of for his Christmas album than Michael Buble did. That said, I enjoyed MB's Christmas special on TV and also didn't mind that his album was played in almost every shop I went into as, fortunately, I happen to love his voice as much as Joe's

I agree Michelle. I love Michael Buble's voice as well but the marketing and promotion of his album was massive for ages prior to Christmas. Not only was it playing in every shop and garage I went into but copies of it were piled up at every till. I actually preferred Joe's album but they're both superb singers.

I'm so looking forward to Joe's fourth album.

That's because Buble has a brilliant selling track record and is a worldwide mature male singer, with the voice to match.
Joe is just a young boy starting out with a good voice, who's doing as well as he's expected and capable of.

isnt he back living with his mum?

he appeared on xfactor, did a cover, came out, and went home.

I thought that was the end of his story? Fair play to him continuing

Four albums in two years, and especially three albums within one year, is obscene.

i don't see how that is relevant, but for the record it has been a long time. joe has had plenty of marketing and promo. he won pstos only months before this release and his previous album got him lots of exposure. of course, michael had more album specific promotion, but it completely buried joe`s album by comparison. after all my response was in relation to a comment on that type of albums self life and expectations.

classic christmas is a really good album amazing vocals considering it was recorded in 6 days.
Shame it only made no13 it did go gold though and classic.
Recently got around to listening to classic and I would reccomend it didn't think I would like it but I did.
His versions of time to say goodbye & dance with my father were really good he knows what he is good at.
I would love him to do some marc almond style musical dance songs such as desperate hours if anyone knows that song?.

yep all his albums have sold over 100k. even though Wide Awake isnt "certified" yet. record labels have to apply to the BPI to get albums certified. and Joe's label that released Wide Awake (Simon Cowells label) probably cant be bothered to apply. but the sales stats are out.

theres loads of albums that have sold enough to be gold/platinum/double-platinum but the labels dont apply.

theres a BPI website where you can search an artist and see what has been certified

Joe has bought his own house in South Shields. You have missed a great chunk out of his story.

He departed from Syco, by mutual agreement I understand; was signed by Decca/Universal and also was invited to be on Popstar to Operastar where he learned a new genre of music. He won this contest with a massive majority - more than 50% in each of the shows and almost 80% in the final. He then went on to make an album with classical songs and arias as well as some of his favourite ballads. This album was only held off the top spot by Will Young's new album which was released on the same day! He did a tour around the country during November playing to packed houses and standing ovations. He sang at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Albert Hall and will be performing with Dionne Warwick, Alison Moyet, Boy George and others again at the Albert Hall for the World Hunger Day concert.

So he story didn't end after X-Factor!

I am really looking forward to Joe's fourth album which is to be released on 10 September. The single or "focus track" will be digitally released on 5 August (I think). It is called Here's What I Believe and is a great song co-written by Joe and Marcella Detroit.
