Deadpool
Wade Winston Wilson aka Deadpool is my new favourite Character I think. He's overtaken Spiderman as my favourite read at the moment.
Recently read "The CIrcle Chase" and "Sins Of The Past" and was mighty impressed.I like his sense of humour, and the stories were pretty damn cool too. I've got quite a few more Deadpool Graphic Novels to get through, and I was wondering if there were any other fans and perhaps any recommendations on stories of his? Mark

I think Gail Simone wrote some of his best stuff, but it was all too brief. Fabian Nicieza can be so hit and miss at times...
I stopped reading the recent Deadpool stuff about 18 months ago, though. It just descended into standard nonsense... and that was after putting up with all the Cable & Deadpool stuff! The books you mention were his first solo stories, IIRC, from the 90's. |

Not super familiar with Marvel these days, but there's also Deadpool Pulp, which is a sort of prequel story. I read it as a standalone and quite enjoyed it, though my only experience with Deadpool has been the Wolverine film and the Hulk cartoon.

I really loved Deadpool back in the day
![]() The two mini-series (Circle Chase was one, the title of the other escapes me) and the whole Jim Kelly run were great fun. I felt at the time that the series declined after Kelly left, but I stopped following it soon after and this was all 10+ years ago so I don't know how well it'd stand up now. I really did love it at the time though

Interestingly enough, right now in the current continuity, a story arc called "Dead" has just finished in the "Deadpool" comic.
This has completed with the Deadpool losing his healing factor, and his ugly mug being restored to normal. He kinda looks like Ryan Reynolds, so I'm wondering if Marvel are pre-empting the film .... if they ever get round to making it! |
