2nd episode definetely nowhere near as good as last week's pilot. It didn't make me laugh much although the highlight had to be Caroline falling into the horseshit! However it's still extremely watchable and i think Kat and Beth still have good onscreen chemisty. Let's hope it improves next week.

I don't mind it still.

Liked the bedroom scene.

was hesitant on watching it but I'm glad i did.

Was pretty funny, and quite ballsy compared to other US sitcoms.

Reminded me somewhat of married with childrens tone

I'm quite liking it, don't get why there's so much on Wikipedia about people hating it cuz it's so offensive, unless we haven't got to the offensive eps yet.

The language can be rather "anatomical" at times. But in that respect it's no worse than Two and a Half Men was (when it was a comedy).

Maybe people are OK when it's men saying such things but get prudish and intolerant when it's women saying them?

The way she said it made me think the line was ad-libbed.

Also, i'm really enjoying this, could've done without the horse poop gag though.

I think that's most probably what it is.

I watched the second ep randomly and was expecting a lot after hearing it did so well in america and thought it was boring, I then on the off chance caught the first episode and thought it was a bit better.
After looking up the third one online, i've now watched all 21 episodes that are avaliable and it really does get so much funnier. It's crude, yes, but if you like that watch it, if you don't, don't watch then you won't have to complain... simple!

(Possibly) weird, but I'm the other way round on that

Got round to watching the second episode, really not feeling this show at all - I'll give the third a go, but if it doesn't click I'm probably out.

I think one of my main problems is the supporting cast is so weak and look like they've wandered in off the set of Mind Your Language with one of those scripts (old brit 70s sitcom, ask your parents ), the two leads relationship just doesn't work. It's progressed too fast, Max is meant to be sassy etc, but her cutting/funny lines sound 'written', as in they've come from a script, rather then naturally from her (obviously I know they've come from a script, but the problem is it sounds like it, if you see what I mean) - and so rarely sound funny to me.

Still get the feeling the writers have thought of a funny line, and then base a scene round it so they can shoe horn it in.

As you may guess, not really feeling this so far

The Mind Your Language analogy is spot on. I have been watching this at US pace and that's exactly the analogy I have been looking for to describe the Three Amigos in the diner.

I can't give spoilers, but my view having watched about 20 episodes, is that two of the three do become more tolerable but one remains equally unbearable and sadly another support character is added mid season (I wonder if this was because the general feeling about the original 3 was similar to yours and mine) and unfortunately this character is even worse still.

After watching a couple of episodes I think it's a good concept, but the characters they have used are far too stereotypical for my liking. The only one who shows promise is the one from nick and Noras infinite playlist.

The blonde bimbo is no different to any other blonde bimbo on tv and so is pointless.

i wouldn't say she is a bimbo, you find out how smart and business tech she is soon. Plus she has drive and ambition, I can't think of any pretty, rich blonde girls on TV who are like that. (there may be some but I don't know of any)

New Girl was brilliant and far better than Big Bang Theory and 2 Broke Girls.

I do not understand the appeal of studio laughter and poorly written jokes.

New girl Is absolute muck.. the first 2 episodes were good, thats it.

The ratings in america have taken a maaaasive nosedive despite it being renewed, a 3rd season is very unlikely

I really struggled to see what qualified New Girl as a comedy. The Big Bang Theory, however, is far and away the best sitcom to come out of America since Friends.

TBBT is recorded live in front of a studio audience.

As for 2 Broke Girls, it's okay. I agree with previous posters that episodes two and three were nowhere near as good as the pilot, though. I could do without the casual racism as well. It's not so much a PC issue, but more a case of being utterly pointless. The premise would work just fine without it. And ditto the horse.

The last few episodes of the season saw an increase in ratings, it was back up into the "safe zone" by the finale (and i felt that after an awkward first few episodes, it really found its feet, some really funny episodes, particularly anything involving the character of Schmidt, i personally thought it was the best freshman comedy of the season once it got going). I wouldn't count New Girl out for a 3rd season just yet, i think it'll possibly see an increase in viewers next season if Fox promote it right, and considering that Fox also renewed Raising Hope despite it's abysmal ratings i can see New Girl being safe for a while yet.

As for 2 Broke Girls, it's "okay" so far, but i really, really, really wish they'd either get rid of or tone down the irritatingly excessive laughter (dunno whether it's canned or filmed in front of an audience, it sounds canned to me though, none of the jokes have been as funny as that "audience" seems to make it sound...), it just sounds so fake and exaggerated. I always think shows with laugh tracks tend to be trying to cover for bad writing, especially when it seems like the actors pause slightly for the laughter (which the characters on this show seem to do a lot).

So you think they should just keep going so everyone misses what they're saying whilst the laughter dies down? Kinda defeats the object of actually having and audience, wouldn't you say?

I'm enjoying it too, but I could do without the rape jokes. Garrett Morris is also really underused.

Maybe it's just because i generally dislike shows with laughter tracks on them (i think the last US show with a laugh track that i actually enjoyed was The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air all those years ago), the pauses just take me out of the show, especially when it feels as exaggerated as it does on this show.

I'm still watching this and i think it's getting better. Liked the scenes in Caroline's townhouse. Did notice another rape joke in the episode however.

What do you mean another?

I'd hardly call the other references "Rape Jokes"
Although I do think all the mentions are suggesting that Max has been raped in the past

This is fast becoming my favourite new comedy - even over Happy Endings. Just laugh out loud stuff every week at the moment.

"Aren't you enjoying the 90's horse party?"
"I thought it was a 90's whore's party"
