Noxy's Fantasy Emmerdale
Hi, all! I've just started writing this on a creative writing forum I use, and thought I'd post it on here as well, see what kind of reaction it gets.
Any feedback warmly welcome! Thanks.

NOXY'S FAN/FIC ED: Monday 9th April 2012
• Sean comes downstairs - without his hat on! He can't find it, and asks Ali, who is making a cuppa, if she's seen it. She lists places it could be, but he tells her he's already looked in all of them. She tells him he looks better without it anyway, which he takes complimentarily, and decides to abandon his search. Ali warns him he'll be late for school if he takes much longer. He complains he hasn't had any breakfast, and she offers him her toast, which she's just made, which he accepts. He thanks her and heads out. Ruby then emerges, asking Ali is she's seeing things or did Sean leave the house happy! She then changes the subject to the divorce again. Ali surprises Ruby by telling her Dan is coming over tonight to sort it with her, so would Ruby mind taking Sean and Amelia over to Rachel's for a few hours whilst her and Dan sort things out. Ruby says that's fine, as she's not at the hospital tonight. Ruby is pleased Ali is sorting it, but Ali seems less confident...
• Moira is on the phone to the supermarket - but it's not good news. Adam joins her once she's off the phone, and asks what's wrong, but Moira lies and says there's a bit of wrangling going on with the supermarket, but nothing that can't be fixed. Adam aceepts this, and heads out. Moira offers him a coffee, but Adam tells her he'll grab one later, and heads out as planned. Moira is then joined by Hannah, who has overheard them, and asks her mum what that phone call was really about. Moira stands by her original explanation, but Hannah is not convinced. Moira then caves in, and tells Hannah she'd better sit down, as she's not going to like this... • Cameron comes downstairs, only to be questioned by Cain about why he was out so late last night. Cameron claims it wasn't that late, and if he must know, he was at The Woolpack trying to cheer up Chas. Cain says he's noticed Cameron's been seeing quite a lot of Chas lately. Cameron asks what he means by this, to which Cain replies: 'You tell me, Jersey Boy!' Cameron admits that Chas won't talk to anyone but him about Aaron, and she's just trying to be there for her. And that perhaps if Cain hadn't wound up Adam Barton in the first place, he wouldn't need to be there for Chas... • Moira tells Hannah that the supermarket are so pleased with the order, they want double the output! Moira tells her Adam, Andy and Alex are all working themselves ragged as it is - a doubling of output is just not possible. Hannah asks what Moira told them, and she admits she said the same thing to the supermarket - who in turn told her that the Bartons have to double the output - or the contract, which is up for renewal in three weeks - won't be renewed. And it that happens, the farm is in big trouble... • Adam asks Cain if he can have a word in The Woolpack - but Cain wonders if he should be wearing protective clothing for this conversation! Diane warns him she doesn't want any trouble, but Adam claims he's only here to talk to Cain, and pleads with Cain to let him. Cain concedes. Adam tells Cain he saw Zak yesterday, and he seemed like he had a lot on his mind. But Cain is less than sympathetic to this. Adam tells Cain that Zak warned him, the guilt of letting Aaron take the rap for the garage fire will eat away at him, and wonders if maybe he's right. Why should Aaron have to abandon his whole family just to protect Adam? But Cain tells Adam he's getting a little sick of his spineless snivelling! He tells Adam he should just be grateful that so many people were prepared to support this, not for Adam, but for Aaron, and that Adam should be grateful. Adam concedes, but tells Cain again he really should have a word with Zack, as he doesn't seem himself. And with that, Adam leaves - only to walk past Moira on the way out! Moira asks Diane if they can go round the back and have a word with her. Diane notices Moira looks shaky, but Moira simply repeats her request, with Diane asking Chas to take over. Meanwhile, Cain is heading out, but is accosted by Chas, who asks what that conversation with Adam just now was all about. But Cain says he was just making sure Adam understood what was what - and he also mentioned 'some waffle about me dad not being himself. As if I care!' And with that, Cain leaves. But Chas is concerned now... • Moira asks Diane if it would be possible to come back to work at The Woolpack, but Diane says she's already promised Alicia extra shift for the next fortnight to pay for a school trip of Jake's, but after that, she'll see what she can do. Diane asks if all is well, but Moira admits it's not really, but she won't bore her with the details. All she'll say is that the farm is struggling somewhat, and she could do with the extra money. Although in truth, even that won't make much difference. Diane tells her it sounds like she needs to get something off her chest, and assures Moira that she doesn't have to do it now if she's not ready, but when she is, she will listen. Moira thanks her sadly. Diane offers her a hug, which Moira accepts. With pained smiles, they then part company... • Up at the farm, Hannah asks Adam for a word, leaving Alex to it. Adam asks if she should be in college, but she's not in this afternoon. She asks Adam if Moira told him about the supermarket deal, but Adam is in the dark. Hannah reveals all, with Adam incredulous at the supermarket's impossible demands. Hannah admits she's only guessing, but if the supermarket contract fails, the farm could be in big financial trouble. Hannah warns him they're going to have to think of something. And by the sounds of it, fast... • At The Woolpack, Cameron pays Chas a flying visit. He warns her that Cain is starting to get suspicious of the amount of time they are spending together. Chas tells him Cain can think what he likes, as Cameron is only looking out for her. But Cameron admits that it's not Cain he's worried about - it's Debbie. He tells Chas Debbie's got enough on her plate without thinking something's going on between him and Chas. So Chas asks what they do about it. Cameron suggests she kick off at Cain about it next time she sees him, and tell him to get his head out of the gutter for once. As for him and Chas, they just have to be a little more careful... • AND Adam confronts Moira back at the house. He asks why she didn't say anything about the supermarket's demands, but she claims she was going to later on. Adam tells her they've already been through so much this year - the last thing he's going to do is let the farm go under. But an emotional Moira tells him it may not be their choice. When he asks what she means by this, she tells him she knows how hard Adam's worked to keep the farm going, and she's so proud of him for doing that in John's memory, but the fact is, the farm's not even breaking even as it is - let alone the supermarket cancelling the contract. Moira tells him his dad would know how hard he tried, but it's just not going to work. And the sooner the whole family face that, the sooner they can do something about it... |
