Stupid thread....ergo: comments are predictable. Life's too short to watch things you hate. It's way too short to start pointless threads about how much you hate it.( Otherwise I'd have been glued to the golf, boat race and football all day then posting in the Sports forums on how tedious they were, instead of watching a cracking film. )I'm pleasantly enjoying it, it's not as good as the US version but that's just my opinion. |

Its just an X Factor rip off funny how contestants were meant to be the general public, now all of a sudden its former X Factor contestants and singers who are already known in the music business.

Erm i was kind of disappointed tonight
Compared to the fist episode. Like it seemed far too repetititive tonight and like when no one turned the coaches are always like "i wished i turned" or they blame another coach saying "i wish this person turned" And i find it so rude when they speak whilst a contestant is singing. #rant over!

Er, no. It's very different in tone, style and substance actually, with acts that can actually sing very well.

This (non) thread is hilarious.
I hate raisins. That's why I avoid muesli (or at least pick them out if I can't avoid the stuff), give fruit cake a body swerve and 'pass' on offers of Chelsea buns. I know a significant proportion of the Human race like raisins and activity indulge in these items. I will not judge them. ... not will I judge the humble raisin. I just won't eat them. There's a couple of buttons on your TV remote control. One of them can turn it off (but that means you have to find something else to do), but there's another facility that allows to change channels. If you change channels (to, say for example, a programme where's there's a dog dancing.... ) you can stare boogle-eyed at that, and then you don't have to find anything else to do for a while. |

It's probably the worst knockoff show in television history. In US it took two seasons to simple minded joe to see it's a con. Well they are really thick on average. I hope for the sake of world peace and everything gracious that UK-people notice this sooner.

Watched 3 episodes now &I'm bored with it too.
The spinning chair gimmick isn't enough to sustain what is in reality just another talent show. Do you not think the likes of the "nice" talent show (op Knocks etc) wouldn't still be on if there was an audience for them. Shameful to admit but the "TV visits to Bedlam" that re the X Factor & BGT are what people want |

This, it's also so clichéd, and it appears the people who like it only do so because they think they're being different. The Voice bores me to tears, and the endless sob stories are filtering through now. It isn't entertaining.

The point is whether people like it or not. Nothing else matters.

However The Voice highlights, to me at least, what I dislike about those shows and I think epitomises why the BIB is rubbish. Last night I watched The Voice, I saw a string of singers who were at the very worst good and at the best, very, very good - nobody absolutely exceptional yet but I don't think BGT or XF has shown me anything I would call exceptional. I enjoy seeing and hearing talent and The Voice feeds that. On the Voice, we have 4 coaches (judges if you wish to call them that) who serve some kind of purpose, there is no bookend who exists solely to look pretty or be quirky. They give useful and constructive criticism and feedback, which is on the whole of a far greater quality to the feedback contestants get on BGT or XF; actually come to think of it, on those two shows I cannot recall a single time a judge has given anything that could constitute useful feedback. I like the coaches and their feedback. Then I turn over to BGT and watched that... On BGT I experienced a string of contestants who were at worst clinically insane and on the whole, were at best decent, with the majority being poor. Even the good were quite low rent. I found myself frustrated at it, waiting for someone good to come out and it pretty much failed to deliver. So much so that a guy who appeared to be off his rocker with no talent at all has the audience cheering for him and the judges going "oh I loved that, your through". I would not want to watch him or half of BGT's offerings again, I wouldn't want to watch them in the first place. That is the biggest problem with the ITV shows and I suspect one of the biggest draws right now for The Voice - the ITV shows are 90% deluded, unstable or just plain mental with nothing that even resembled talent and 10% talent. I mean seriously, I sat there for an hour and half (?) and saw probably 2 or 3 people who had something going for them and 5 second montages of others who might have had something going for them. I just don't find that entertaining. It's the same with The XF, where its 90% people who cannot sing at all and 10% good to very good. Then the XF and BGT judges tend to sit there and either belittle or big up with no substance behind their words. Then with "credibility", The Voice isn't perfect, there will be some level of manipulation but damn, it is a hell of a lot more true to its premise than XF and BGT that are nothing more than parodies of their premise. I still enjoy watching the XF and did enjoy watching BGT, though this year I've found myself frustrated at it. Sitting there sighing as yet another joke takes to the stage, willing for there to be more good. Whats the ratio? I haven't counted but it felt like 10 joke acts and 1 good and 2 decent; something like that. It's labored and frustrating. I was looking forward to David Walliams joining the judges as I thought he would be funny but he is irritating, I much preferred Michael McIntyre. I've found Alicia to be pointless, Amanda and Simon we know what to expect from and to be honest I'm getting bored of them now. I think that show has seriously jumped the shark. |

First you get a thread going on the US ratings without a smidgeon of knowledge of how they are perceived and acted upon ( differently from here) and now you've just slagged 100m Americans off by calling them "really thick".Love it! Planning on going on vacation there soon? Such constructive, knowledgable posts deserve a wider audience. ![]() What have Americans ever done to piss you off so much?As someone said Opportunity Knocks ran for 10 odd years until people got tired of it. Mr Cowell has had 10 years of his particular brand of humiliation talent shows, I'm tired of them. People want different things. I too, turned over for BGT for the first time in 3 years, because it was said David Walliams was good. I pressed the off button after 10 minutes, I found it cringeworthy. So please dont speak for us all to whoever said we want shows like the X Factor or BGT. I dont. They are tired, old and stale and I've heard every put down or hyperbole in Simon's vocabulary so many times now. In the beginning it was amusing, now it's turn the telly off stuff. To each their own, but there's no way I'd go onto the X Factor or BGT forums and start a "I hate......thread" It's so immature. |

![]() Far be it for me to label anyone a troll, just let's say I have 2 posters on here on ignore, to prevent myself reacting and infringing the T's and C's of DS. Jiopsi hasn't made it yet because they are so completely OTT I'm still finding it amusing.
