My guess: Gwen's in black because she's become DARK GWEN! But, we'll have to wait until the SDCC 2012:

Oceanneil, I'll try to help you. To write a message in spoiler tags, click on the "Go advanced" button below where you write your message. Up will come a new box, with a toolbar above it. The far right icon is a faint S. Click on that, and the word SPOILER will apppear twice in your text box. Then, all you have to do is write your spoiler within the 2 words. You can then click on the preview post button under the message box to make sure your post looks right and the spoiler part has worked. Hope that helps.

No one is going to shout at you. This thread has experienced disagreements and caps lock overuse in the past, but we're a nice bunch really
![]() ![]() For a newbie, I would recommend doing spoiler tags in the advanced reply screen. Right at the end of the row at the top, next to the piece of paper with "php" written on it, is a S. If you click on it, you get the two spoiler tags and you can put your text in between them. Otherwise, select the text you want and then click the "S".
Spoiler
If you click on "quote" at the bottom of my post, you should be able to see how the tags work. You may find it useful to copy and past my "spoiler" and then start a new message putting your own words in of course! We were all newbies once! ETA: Beaten to it Avi8 brings up a very good point about using preview, I hadn't thought of that because I usually just post and edit later!

The references were for his hair, as I can tell. In season one, he had a bowl-type haircut. Season 2, he had shorter hair and even shorter hair in season 3 with no bangs. Season 4 saw the return of the bangs but more stylized. Season 5 sees him look more like season 1.
The speculation had been that with S04E13, Merlin's new clothes might mean a newer and better position in Arthur's Court but I had a bet/argument with some people that given the events of S04, Merlin hadn't developed much and that his character had been stunted while the others including Gwen, Arthur, and Morgana had developed to a much greater degree. But, it's not all that bad according to SFX, among the 200 Sexiest Characters in Science Fiction are: Merlin (#15), Gwen (#13), Arthur (#11), and Morgana (#6). Still I wonder: Mary Jane Smith of Dr. Who was #100 as was the Doctor; but no Tegan? What kind of list is that? http://www.sfx.co.uk/2012/03/27/top-...ers-in-sci-fi/ One last bit, there'll be an official set of behind the scenes vids on youtube from the makers of MERLIN (though it might be after Comic Con--- I guess that's one of the big teases for the fans). |

Strange, but I would be more annoyed if they had found the bracelet.
Always in opposition.![]() Don't give up, Oceanneil! Test the spoiler tag without actual spoilers. Using the preview function is a good idea.

Write the whole spoiler/everything you want to be hidden in Spoiler tags. Highlight it. Then above all the smilies, slighty to the left, top hand corner is a faded out S next to the php. Click the S and it will put the words you highlighted into spoiler tags..

Anyway, I wouldn't want to see the bracelet revealed, yet. I'd do it for S06 or later because it would be a good way to bring Lancelot back. |

A: "Who knows?? There's no such thing as real death in Merlin." The same should hold for old Lance. Though I'd really like to know if there were bad terms on Santiago Cabrera leaving the show. |

I think Lancelot might return once more as the knight of the lake, but series 5 would be too soon.
I always tell myself that the lady of the lake is guarding poor Lancelot in Avalon, and that she can bring him back when he is truly needed, just as she brought back Excalibur. It would be nice to see these two characters connected some way, as they are connected in many legends. |

I've also not heard of there being any bad feelings or Santiago leaving on bad terms either, they were aware from when they first signed him to play Lancelot that he had other TV commitments. Quote:
They may go down the Galahad role though to return someone connected with Lancelot as he is his son, and the purest knight of Camelot, with Elaine of Corbenic, the daughter of the Fisher King Pelles. It's unlikely they'd use that version though, having had the Fisher King, so they may connect him to Elaine of Astolat instead, inspiration for Tennyson's Lady of Shallot. Quote:

Thank you guys, there's another forum that has Merlin on and I'm frightened to even read it in case I'm looking at it wrong, the moderator is that picky.
This is on the subject of Gwen and the dress,

Lancelot has already fulfilled his legendary role of betraying Arthur and having a secret romance with Guinevere. The TV program gave you another twist on it. Since Lancelot by legend really did carry out the deed; there really isn't any need to clear this up further. Arthur has clearly forgiven Gwen. Lancelot has returned from the dead once, that's enough. It would hurt the storyline if dead people kept coming back to life. Personally, I'm sorry that they wrote Lancelot out of the story so early, but what is done is done.

It could be possible that maybe that Gwen thinks that someone is dead and they aren't really dead.

So, that means that either we'll have a Dark Gwen episode or some sort of Gwen Quest where we think she's a villain; OR as suggested, Gwen's making a fashion statement. If a villain, I hope she's not a supernatural one like vampire which is getting tired though a stake burning scene with torches and a bonfire for a witch would look nice.
Maybe the writers could explain what Morgana brought up in S01: if those with Magic are so powerful, how did Uther vanquish them during the great purge? |

Please be evil Gwen. Never really liked her, and if she's going to get in the way of Arthur and Merlin then at least let her be interesting and not just same old innocent and pure unless under enchament Gwen. |
