Although Belinda Carlisle is best known for Heaven is a place on earth
She has done some other terrific songs, and its a sin I've never heard them until very recently when I discovered them on Youtube. Shame she seems to have vanished. She should be up there with Kylie and Madonna.
Leave a light on for me I cannot stop listening to this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jh3a2b4X99Q Circle in the sand nice summer time tune http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4Qkg...eature=related We want the same thing most often heard on driving compilations http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGa0xPzKLMo |

I only ever really liked her stuff with the Go Go's in the early 80's. Songs like Automatic, Our Lips Are Sealed, We Got The Beat and Vacation are brilliant. Not so keen on her solo stuff.

Yes she has some killer songs......I was never into 'Heaven is a place on earth' but 'Circle in the Sand', 'Leave a light on' are both rightful classics not to be forgotten.
There is another gem on her best of collection - 'A prayer for everyone' - it was never released as a single but is such a fan favourite it got onto the Best of collection. Lyrics are cheesy but the melody is very addictive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-9gnTj9lHk |

Always liked Belinda. I Get Weak, World Without You and Summer Rain are my fav songs of hers. She is playing an 80's gig in Glasgow this summer unfortunately it's the same day as Madonna at Murrayfield. Sorry Belinda you can't compete with that.
Belinda's problems started when she ditches Rick Nowels and Eileen Shipley and started writing her own songs. Heaven On Earth, Runaway Horses, and Live Your Life Be Free are all great albums. Real and all albums after that were not. |

Yes, she was huge in her day - and a contender for Madonna's crown at one point - Madonna even mentions her in her film, Truth or Dare/In Bed with Madonna. Not sure what went wrong.
All those songs mentioned about her wonderful - Summer Rain and Leave A Light On are my personal favourites. |

I think 'Circle in The Sand' is better than 'Heaven...'
My fav song of hers though is 'Always Breaking My Heart'. |

Ii was a big fan of the Go-Go's but never a particular fan of Belinda's solo output.

I adore We Want The Same Thing. It was just one of those songs that'd be played on the radio but I'd never listen in time to catch the artist's name.
