How do you rank the series (and where will this current one fit into that?)

I'd say

The best
Series 3 - Brilliant! This was when the show really clicked.
Series 6 - With Stuart Bags, Stella

The okay
Series 1- Was good but the show was still in early stages.
Series 7- Alright.
Series 5- Had good moments but a bit dull overall?

The worst
Series 4 - Car crash. Still entertaining in parts though.
Series 2 - Honestly probably the worst standard of candidates overall.

I'd guess this one will probably fit into the 'okay' section. Possibly above series 5 but below series 7. It's still really early to say though obviously. I am enjoying the current series and it could get a lot better.

Also, I enjoyed all the series even the 'worst' ones.

I've only watched from series 5 (although I've seen bits of 4 and will make a point of watching them at some point), so:

Series 7
Series 5
Junior Apprentice
Series 6
Young Apprentice

I think after all's said & done, this year will probably slot in above or below JA.

Series 5 - the best the show's ever been. Strong narratives for pretty much every contestant with no dead-weight, and hardly any forced Comedy Characters or one-note bitches. Drama every week, comedy moments, combative boardrooms, DebraBarr telling Nick to **** off. Amazing.

Series 3 - strong series with lots of big characters, but most of the end-game, whilst entertaining, makes little sense or isn't explained very well. Suffers also from some episodes in the middle that are almost entirely about feuds involving Adam, who turns out to be not central to the story of the series or an end-game player. Katie Hopkins is a great character, but tries too hard on occasion.

Series 1 - very good series to start the franchise off, benefits from candidates not knowing the series tropes to play into them, mostly because they haven't been established yet

Series 7 - fun series with a lot of interesting, diverse people, but suffers from the show not quite having grown into its new format yet and blatantly not being at all aware how to edit Helen, and so stuffing her into a bag for the first 6 weeks so no-one gets too attached to a contestant who out-performs everyone else by a factor of 1000

Series 6 - a noble but failed experiment wherein most of the candidates are under-qualified or useless or too narcissistic to function. Most of the end-gamers are interesting characters though (with the exceptions of Jamie and Liz).

Series 2 - samey and beige, with sales task after sales task after sales task with little variation. Ruth and Syed are pretty much it in terms of entertainment, and Jo Cameron is the most transparent "we're just keeping her in for the LOLs" contetstant of all time

Series 4 - awful people and apart from Marrakesh (which was just an already established task set in foreign) barely a single interesting episode.

So far this series is hovvering somewhere between series 6 and 2. Most of the people are likable enough but it's not really clicking and there's been no real drama or stand-out moments, and the show's reaching too hard for comedy that isn't happening.

Right now this series is towards the bottom, but it's not really fair based on only 3 episodes. Depends how the characters develop.

this is the worst series by far..

Series 3 - i have no hesitation to name this one as the best Series. It was full of entertaining moments - Tre V's Rory, Paul and the cheese in france, Simon making a knob of himself on the shopping channel, Katie Hopkins being a bitch and tearing Adam apart in the boardroom.

Series 1 - The first series was the only series where the majority of the candidates seemed to be genuinely competant business people and interested in the job. After series 1 it became obvious that some of the candidates are just there because they want to be on tv or been chosen because they make for good tv.

Series 5 - Margarets last series was a worthy series for this legend to bow out on, pantsman and all that

Series 4 - Some really horrible candidates on this one but i still enjoyed it.

Series 7 -A little boring in places but not bad

Series 2 - Its surprising how bad the standard of candidates was in this very early series, a big contrast to the generally strong series 1. I think its something like episode 2 when they all keep crying - and its mostly the men who keep crying!!!!

Series 6 - Sorry to the S6 fans but i didn't like this series, it was as boring as hell, and i couldn't see the appeal to that Baggs bloke, he just annoyed me.

Its too early to judge this series yet but on early impressions i'd say its definately better than S6 and may well prove to be better than 2 and 7 as well.

Not sure why yet it is just not happening for me so far, I don't think taking out two potential characters the first two weeks has really helped things.

It needs something to lift it and there are a lot of weak bland characters there

The best:
1. Series 3 ( Katie Hopkins, Kristina, Adam, etc). There are so many brilliant boardroom moments in series 3.
2. Series 7. I like most people in this series even though some of them can be annoying at times (Helen, Susan Ma, Zoe, Natasha, Jim and even Melody). The only candidate that I dislike is the winner, Tom (the most undeserving winner in the Apprentice history).

The worst:
1. Series 4 - I just hate everything about series 4. Most of the candidates are unpleasant in this series (Jenny Celery, Sophocles, Helen Spite, Claire, Alex).
2. Series 8 (this year). Most of them, especially the women are so unlikeable.

Best

Series 5 - had the best winner for me + pantsman/sandhurst

Series 2 - one of the more businesslike series

Series 3 - good episodes, but the result was poor

Young Apprentice - same comments as for Series 3

Series 6 - not enough good candidates (only 3 of the ladies)

Series 8 - Only just starting, but I can see it ending up here

Series 7 - A bit like series 3 in terms of results, but not near entertaining enough

Junior Apprentice - Felt a bit too much like kids playing dress-up

Series 1 - perhaps the poorest set of candidates due to it being new, but was also very dull and uninteresting (think that the show only got properly started in series 2)

Series 4 - No need to explain this one, right?

Worst

well, if being more businesslike means crying every 5 minutes than fair enough. Never saw another series with such a bunch of cry babies.

1. Series 3. A very entertaining series. Katie was vitriolic but was never void of wit either. Tre vs Rory is one of my favourite apprentice moments, and there was a good mix of characters I liked and didn't

2. Series 4. There was an abundance of nasty characters here. Helene, Jenny C, Jenny M, Michael, and the loathsome Alex. Early Claire was really nasty and even Lee had his moment of weakness against Sara... but for me this all added to the entertainment. Also, this series has my two most favourite contestants, Lucinda and Raef, both thoroughly entertaining and prematurely fired. Also, Marrakesh.

3. Series 1. Paul Torrisi, Saira Khan and James Max were fantastic characters. Some great moments as well... like the wolf jacket, James braying at the donkeys, the first firing, Adele being useless...

4. Series 7. You might remember as one of the ones fanatic about Jim. He absolutely made this series for me... despite his faults, he was centre to a lot of great moments. There were other great characters. Susan was like the annoying but funny little sister of the series. Tom was also great and I'm so glad he won over Helen. I felt like there was a lot of deadwood here, however.

5. Series 6. Really like Alex, Stella, Stuart and Joanna. There's not really much more to say.

6. Series 5. I was so glad that Yasmina won over Kate. There were some dull moments this series but Yasmina and James kept it going throughout.

7. Series 2. On the whole, I didn't really warm to anyone or really disliked anyone (apart from Syed). There were a couple of good moments though. '1 chiken per pizza'

I can see series 8 going either side of series 5. Although it's still early days.
