Hi everyone,

Hoping someone can shed some light on this one! My dad has a samsung smart led HD Freeview tv and we are trying to get the Racing UK channel on it.

We have connect the TV up to the internet no problem but there is an error when selecting the Racing UK which says:

"you device does not support freeview hd streaming"

Correct me if i'm wrong but its an HD freeview TV (as we can get ITV and BBC hd channels)... are we doing anything wrong? the aerial is connected directly to the tv.

We tried searching for a software update for the TV but it has the latest one installed..

Any thoughts anyone? would be greatly appreciated!

Its a Samsung UED40D5520

Thanks for the links, but on the connect TV website (i guess they supply the streaming) it says any hd freeview device released after april 2011 would generally be supported?

Checking further into the Connect TV website http://www.connect-tv.tv/channels/

finds this info http://www.visiontvnetwork.co.uk/home/devices

and, it would appear, that the Samsung is not supported ATM

It's all bit misleading and confusing as the Racing UK and Vision TV Network sites state
"Available on compatible FREEVIEW HD devices"
and
"...can be watched on any ‘Freeview HD’ compatible TV or set-top box..."

The operative word being "compatible" and not "any".

It's like the usual disclaimers of "up to" and "from"

Caveat Emptor - let the buyer beware

It might be that your devices are not compatible. It’s rather unfortunate for you. I didn’t experience this kind of issue with my LG LW450U 3D TV. Not only that I am able to get the racing UK on free-view but intuitively, you can use and control the LW450U very easily with internet connections as well.

Can you tell me more about the LG one you just mentioned? The TV looks nice but I'm not totally convinced.
