Cancelling a Virgin Mobile Contract
douknowotimean?

Hi,

I wish to cancel my BlackBerry and I understand I have to pay the rest of the contract term off (I have about 7 Months left on my contract) which I am prepared to do but what I need to know is this (as I heard this company can be nightmare when cancelling):-

Do Virgin Mobile still take money from your Direct Debit even after you cancelled the contract and paid upfront for the rest of the term?

Do they still charge you for a contract you no longer have and when you haven't been paying anything they start sending debt letters, bailiffs etc.

Thanks

As long as you cancel it and pay what you owe then you will be fine.

Thanks . I really hope I'll be fine. I've heard a few people have had trouble with them in the past and I personally can't afford to hire a solicitor to take them on if things got that bad.

If you have paid off all you know, why don't you cancel your DD?

I thought Virgin (or any company for that matter) would automatically stop the Direct Debit or am I completely wrong?

That should be the case, but when I migrated away from Plus Net they made 2 attempts to collect a DD.

I always cancel my own DDs - it's easier than trying to get overpaid money returned from any company!

^^^ This. Cancel the DD just in case.

I've two instances recently of companies still trying to take money for items that have been cancelled.
