How come Stug's gonna be cringe tonight?? They could never be cringe.

And I love the Cheryl in hospital/Ste's tight hug idea!! I had an idea last night that if Ste was beaten up by this villain.... or anyone I guess... enough to put him in hospital, it would be the best chance probably to explore Brendan's true feelings. I don't think Brendan will ever say the things it's important to hear him say unless Ste was in critical condition. And then if Brendan was arrested on suspicion of Ste's assault, and taken into questioning, that would force him into a position where he has to confront WHY he's being accused. And he'd think it was absolutely horrifying that he could be accused of putting Ste in that condition, but he'd have to reflect on WHY he's hit him in the past, and cos he's being questioned, he'd have to talk about it and face up to it. I think it would be a good chance for Brendan to confront that, and realise how wrong he's been and never ever ever want to do it ever again. Plus, Ste would wake up and defend Brendan.
Depressing little storyline idea, I know, but I think it would be a good way of getting feelings said out loud and demons confronted.

I would love Ste to get on the wrong side of the new villain but not sure how it fits their non-victim Ste direction. Which was a stupid thing to say, anyway, cos it's a soap and bad things happen and everyone is a victim of something.

Then later, Ste confronts him about why he's being weird and awkward with him suddenly, and that leads to a talk about them both being lonely

A kiss would be more dramatic, but I don't want it.

Oooh, I see why you think Stug will be cringe now.... I didn't realise potential-kiss night was tonight, I thought it was the 20th for some reason!! Oooooh my gawd, that really will be cringe. Ah, I'm still not entirely convinced it will be Ste making a move... I think it could just as easily be something else...

ETA: Tonight sounds pretty good actually. Love Ste and Doug, love Barney... could be interesting to hear these supposed 'badasses' talk about Brendan, and will be nice to see Joel get a smack

I'm expecting tonight to be cringey but I'm in a good mood, I can cope, I do hope they have a good old heart to heart though, although that will probably be tomorrow.

I really don't think it'll be owt cringey between Ste and Doug, either. It's usually cringey when the rejecter has a right go at the rejecteee (like Lynsey and Brendan had that big, weird, YOU MISREAD THE SIGNALS, chat. ) but I don't think Doug would do that.

But then I also think there's every chance that it's something totally different. We've had misleading spoilers before.

Oh my god. I never thought you'd top the hilarity and crack of the ice cream and the Austen inspired fic, but you've done it. This has made my day. I am awed by how clever it was with all the fairytale elements and the villagers. So funny and clever and amazing. Thank you so much. It was better than I could have hoped for. I'm always going to re-read this on a bad day.
