Yeah, it's pretty much just:

"Trust me, Brendan!"

"No."

"Trust me, Brendan!"

"No. Oi don't trust anyone."

The end.

Totally OT here but does Rhys still work in The Dog? I remember he got a second job there before Jacqui...don't remember him leaving it?

I just don't buy it at all. Any of it. It's all a stupid sensationalist plot!

I find Brendan pretty pantomimey when he acts like that, Helen.

Very cringey and just not very good at all. The villainy side of him isn't as convincing as it used to be. Not to me, anyway.

That's interesting. Could indeed be that. I like that theory.

Precisely what I thought actually

Hes invincible him, going to get embroiled in all this stuff with the villain and completely miss whats going on with Ste/Doug then bang he is going to get blindsided.

Agreed, I missed all the Joel/Brendan stuff today. It just does nothing for me. Even now, it still feels random, forced and irrelevant. Probably because it is.

Yeah I'm afraid the Joel plot holds no interest for me either. Let's hope Brendan has someone decent to go up against soon.

I wonder if Kieron and PJ's insanely dark tans feature in the upcoming plot? Maybe Doug offers to tan Ste for a date.

Oh I've just rewatched.

The hug gets sweeter. I'm sorry but it's just .. oh my, so cute. Doug's little face, when he's hugging him.

ETA: I also love how oblivious Ste is. Thinking Doug's leaving just to get out of cleaning the paintbrushes.

I love it, always have

Which is as Ive always said the biggest problem they have with Brendan as a character, everyone sees him differently so changing him is risking making him unpopular with others.

Has anyone got the clip of the hug? It's really hard to make up your mind when you haven't actually seen it

That stuff at the bar with Joel was just cringeworthy

He is so desperate for Brendan's approval he would probably shag him to get it

I don't find it cringey, but I do find it boring at times. It isn't what it used to be.

I don't think it's Emmett's fault at all, the just kind of sucks and Joel doesn't help.

He really does.

Gah. Damn you, Douglas, and you're adorable face. You know if I still hated him, this would be much easier.

ETA: Oh it's not Emmett's fault, but the fact he's in most scenes now with someone who has no spark what so ever probably has something to do withi t.

Exactly. Just because he appears perfect doesn't mean Ste is going to end up with him <cough Justin/Ethan cough Justin/Brian >

If Brendan wants Ste back and I think he does then he is not just going to walk away even if he knows another person is better for Ste. Leaving Ste alone when he wants him has never really been Brendan's strong point
Real competition, not shite neck sucking - this could be interesting folks.

I think Stendan is endgame, BUT they have got to be careful how they get there because of the DV. This is longhaul

It was just so bad, they just fu*ked up massively with it. Unfortunately, I think they might have reflected and thought well, who can we put him with that 'might' be a viable alternative. Someone said it on here once, WHO in the regular cast could it be if it wasn't Ally!

Does anyone here read the fan-fic 'The Reunion'?

I'm such a big fan of it, and a huge reason that it works for me is the angst and pain-stakingness of the Martin.VS.Brendan. Because the writer has somehow made Martin so amazing, that part of me knows he's best for Ste. And it's odd, because I never imagined being happy for Ste to be with anyone other than Brendan, and yet there's Martin - making it difficult because he's so perfect in many ways. But I still want Ste with Brendan regardless, because that's REAL RAW LOVE.

I think that's what Doug could be. The 'Martin' from 'The Reunion.'

Yep.

I think there's a way of keeping the villainous stuff fresh and interesting, I just don't think tonight's was it! I think the show's in just as much danger keeping him the same as they are with changing him really.

No matter what happens, I can guarantee Stendan will happen in the end, in one way or another. There's too much build up and chemistry there for it to be thrown away.

And I'm not happy about all this Stug business either, but guys.. If we can survive Noah, we can survive anything!

PJ nailed it. I would rather it was Ally, like people were saying, so I could just dislike him and the ship. And at least it would make sense to me.

I really like how he touched where Ste had hugged him in the after credits scene, too. Well, where Ste's arms had more or less been. He looked so confused about what he felt.

Oh god, no. I would never wish that, even if Ste never got back with Brendan.

I couldn't cope with Stally at all.

ETA: I read The Reunion but I don't like Martin.

Yes, I have. One of the best fics ever, I adore it. I think that's very clever of the writer to do, because you do end up liking Martin and thinking that he's good for Ste. But the thing is, it's different for me when seeing it on screen Reading about it is much easier.
