Never had gnocchi but your dish sounds delish. Where would you buy gnocchi from and is it fresh?

We just get it from the supermarket in the pasta section:

You can get it fresh

It doesn't taste of much without a sauce and is easy to over-cook but it works well in the tomato and spinach dish.

I love gnocci, never thought about baking it. Thats given me a good idea
I'm having chicken tikka masala and rice. Pataks sauce as I don't have paste here and I can't be dealing with a supermarket in this weather

Thanks. Actually it just reminded that I did buy some fresh gnocchi years ago, I didn't know what to do with it and it was on the freezer for a year before I threw it out.

How do you make the sauce to go with it?

It's really easy. I just cook the gnocchi. Put in an ovenproof dish. Pour over a tin of tomatoes and some cream. Microwave the spinach. Add to the gnocchi and tomatoes and stir around. Top with mozzarella and parmesan so the sauce and gnocchi is covered and bake until mozzarella looks browned and cooked. That's it!

I've not decided yet, I've got some mince lamb out.

Maybe shepherds pie or burgers with wedges. I'll ask kids later.

Gnocchi baked is wonderful - I love it, so my 'children' 25/26/30 yrs old but my hubby isn't keen on many potato dishes - don't start me on his family! They loathe potatoes!

Tough I say when I'm cooking ( well when I feel like comfort food).
