What?! a. - who cares, they are both mega successful. b. - TS hasn't had an album out since 2010. c. - i'm sure if you listend to country radio it would have been a different story

I don't think you can really draw conclusions on who the "biggest star" is just based on what people are listening to in New York, it's not really representative of the USA as a whole.

Try spending some time in the southern states and you get a very different picture.

New York is the type of place Adele would be big, shame you didn't visit the proper America!

And as I said, I think you're wrong to draw conclusions on the whole of the USA based just on what you saw in New York.

I've spent time in both New York and Nashville within the last month and you get a completely different picture in different places, country music is barely heard in New York but is huge in particular states like Kentucky/Tennessee.

The market in the USA is too diverse to draw conclusions on who is a bigger star in the USA based on visiting only 1 city in 1 state.

I spent a fair bit of time in the US myself a few times in the year and I also agree it is a very poor conclusion.

I think this post is just as shameless as the OP's so New York does now not constitute real America ergo it would play Adele is London now not Proper UK either either way who gives a damn Adele is the biggest star in the world right now and she is everywhere so of course you wil hear her Ts hasn't had an album out in over two years and has all but vanished probably whilst recording new material doesn't really prove a point or gauge the overall consensus of US Music as their radio is very different to ours.

Releasing a promotional single for a small independent movie (The Hunger Games) is 'all but vanished'?

Can't judge America and it's people on the two coasts I'm afraid... middle America gives a wider view of the country as a whole

I said all but vanished i am aware of Safe and Sound but i was making a comparison that she has had very little output as opposed to Adele who would therefore most likely to be plaed more on mainstream radio and as TS is ''Country'' she would be played more on Country anyway

And i wasn't comparing America on two coats you said NY was not proper America which is stupid its like saying parts of the Uk are not proper representations of the UK each has its diffrences but also shares cultural similarities i was just confused as to why you would consider NY not proper America after all being in America and having a large American population is that not proper America now

Adele does get much more radio airplay in the US than Taylor Swift does. It's been like that for almost a year now I think, as they release airplay figures saying so.

It does depend where you are in the country though, and what stations you listen to. In urban areas you'd hear Adele even more, than in the country-side areas (or whatever they call that in the US).
