He was always going to be found guilty, so no point appealing. Just take the ban and move the f**k on.

Could have been worse is my first impression. Thought the FA were going to ban him for 10+ games.
Although i still think the whole thing is a joke, found not guilty but still gets hit with a ban and fine? What? |

I certainly didn't.
Negrito? That sounds like a cocktail for crying out loud. |

There's all the difference in te world between calling someone a "negrito" and "a f*cking black c*nt." And when one is a foreigner who is still learning the ropes, and the other is native-born and must have had it drummed into him time and time again ,AND represents his country as captain it just makes the difference even wider
If people can't understand that, then they are deliberately choosing not to understand for reasons best known to themselves. |

Although i still think the whole thing is a joke, found not guilty but still gets hit with a ban and fine? What? The judge in court said Terry's account was "unlikely" and Ferdinand's account was "credible". However, he couldn't find Terry guilty because Terry's defence could not be challenged with proof. That's what defence lawyers earn all that money for. The FA had to find him guilty and they did. Now everyone should move on and learn from this. Where have we heard that before... |

If FA hearings were conducted the sane as a criminal court, no players would be banned for anything. Thankfully, they don't and instead use probability and informed judgement. Criminal cases have to be proven beyond any reasonable doubt because of the seriousness of the consequences. The FA's remit is, and has to be, different in order to ensure players behave acceptably week-in, week-out.

Ridiculous decision. Not guilty in a court of law but guilty with the FA.
He was always going to get banned so I guess take it on the chin and move on. Chelsea fans won't see him any differently. |

The FA had made up their minds before the case began. What else do you expect with a 99.5% success rate? It was a sham trial that would be more at home in North Korea.

different burdens of proof i'm afraid. Luis Suarez wouldn't have been found guilty in a court of law either I didn't see many Chelsea fans saying that the 8 games he got was a joke!

I can't believe I'm about to defend John Terry, but here goes...
I don't think Terry is racist. The FA does NOT think Terry is racist. I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty confident even the Ferdinand brothers don't think Terry is a racist! However, what I DO think (and the FA agrees) is that Terry made a racial insult in the heat of the moment. We're all human beings and sometimes say things in anger we don't mean. That is ALL Terry has been found guilty of doing... Insulting a player and referring to his Race on ONE occasion! But that is the end of it. This is not an assessment of John Terry as a man or of his character. So all these public statements by Avram Grant and Jose Mourinho saying Terry is not a racist person, are frankly irrelevant. As a result, I think it is right he should be punished for that single incident, as it is a serious issue. Finally, I wish people would stop getting carried away with the sense of 'injustice' here. It's not like Terry has been sent to prison for heaven's sake. He's been banned from playing football for a month and fined a week's wages. Hardly a punishment that warrants people protesting on the streets or new Acts being passed in Parliament. |

I should add - I don't think Terry is a racist either. I think he said something racist. I just find it interesting to compare the reactions to the situation compared with the reactions to the other recent one.

Suarez was found guilty of multiple offences, as you know.
The Terry Bashing thread is elsewhere. |

Well you yourself referred to Suarez as a racist several times in the thread about him, so I assume you believe Terry to be a racist as well? If not, what do you believe the differences to be to come to that conclusion?
![]() Actually you should of ready my comments on this whole issue in the first place, then you would of seen my real opinion on both players and this issue. The rest was responding to sanctimonious claptrap from Liverpool supporters. |

Bet Arsenal are looking forward to tomorrow without the threat of Drogba ripping them to pieces.

Podolski vs Ivanovic worries me, as will if Walcott plays as a striker, his pace through the middle against our defence will cause problems.
