It annoys the hell out of me and every Chelsea fan I know as he is such a great player. I know why he was doing it last night, he was time wasting, trying to break up play, and it worked but no, I don't condone it.
And yes, it does get embarrassing when a player of his build would get knocked over my gran. |

Well what a night that was!!! We beat the worlds best team in Europe, I repeat - we have beaten the WORLDS BEST TEAM IN EUROPE!
![]() ![]() Has a nice ring to it doesn't it? ![]() You've just got to laugh at all the people saying we were going to get thrashed, makes the victory even better! I know it's not over yet but damn, I'm going to enjoy this victory as it's not everyday we see Chelsea beat Barca 1-0! Anyway back to the match, I thought we were quite lucky not to concede but hey it's about time something went our way! Messi still has never scored at Stamford Bridge! I thought we would set up as 4-2-3-1 but we ended up playing in a 4-3-3 on the counter and when Barca had the ball 4-5-1. Everyone put in a really good shift but I was slightly concerned with Meireles. He's just a walking yellow card isn't he? Got lucky with a few of his tackles due to Messi being so quick on his feet. The cross from Lampard was quality and the assist from Ramires was timed perfectly - slotted it right behind Barca's defence for Drogba to bury it at the back of the net. I was quite annoyed with Drogba with his antics too. To be fair, the replays did show him he was clipped whenever he fell to the ground but he kept on making a meal of everything. He can be absolutely unstoppable when he wants to be - just wish he would keep the 'diving' to a minimum as he doesn't need to resort to that level. Still love you though Didier! ![]() Also....that clearance by Cole was fantastic. Where would be without Cole eh? Cech also had an outstanding game; made some very crucial saves and without him we would have definitely conceded.2nd leg is going to be so tough; their pitch is much bigger than ours. :-/ Nonetheless, I still believe Chelsea can do this!! We just need to defend for our lives. |

3ft longer at each end. Not double the size as some people would like you to believe.

I was surprised to see that, as well.
Our pitch looks smaller every season

At number one, by a long way, is the Indianapolis Speedway Stadium. By some estimates (they vary for some reason) it has a permanent seating capacity for more than 400,000 people. Bloody hell, that's a lot of people ! Sorry, just thought it was interesting.

Yes, Man City's pitch (116 x 77 yards) is bigger than the Nou Camp (115 × 74 yd)..according to Wiki.

Wonder how we will set up against Arsenal tommorow, i suspect Torres/Sturridge may start since they were rested against Barca. Drogba probably will be rested for the Barca game. Although Drogba has had some brilliant games against Arsenal in past.

Blackburn could be a tough nut to crack tonight - it would seem they have a couple of good experienced c/bs for starters. Don't suppose future England star Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be involved again after missing most of the season.

Drogba out of the Arsenal game, and could miss the return leg against Barcelona.

Chelsea 2-0 up at HT - good header from Chalobah and very good shot from Lewis Baker - both English lads.

Chelsea FC
Team: Cech; Bos, Cahill, JT (c), Bert; Ess, Rom; Kal, Mal, Sturr; Torres. - subs: Turn, Ferr, Cole, Mik, Lamps, Meir, Mata. #CFC (SL) Wow, bold move by RDM, pretty much a second team. Shows where our priorites are lying... its a hard choice though as i would imagine the team that faced Barca are probably knackered. Could be a very tough game today, not expecting a win anyway. |

Mmmm looks like a pretty risky line up to me . Arsenal will be taking things very seriously to secure the 3rd place .
I can see you guys taking a beating today !! I would have thought you'd have given. 3rd or 4th place priority over the CL . Should be an interesting game to say the least ! Edit : After watching nearly 20 mins , Arsenal are not themselves , looking very disjointed . Strange performance by them allowing you guys to dictate the play. |
