If he doesn't improve then we should cut our losses and find a better RB. Starting to think we should have kept Bosingwa! Although, if we can get him for 6-7mil I'd be tempted to take him on as a back-up RB to Bane. He's still young so if we do get him, at least there will be some potential re-sale value!

Got a link to that?

So, rumours that RDM will get a minimum of a one year contract. I, for one, think he deserves at least that. To help us get the CL? He deserves that respect from the Club and the fans.

Torres not starting today, but I am sure he will play a part in the next 3 games, really hope he has a confidence building tournament.

Even though they didn't win, though Meireles had a pretty decent game yesterday. Thank God the hair has gone!!”

Almost didn't recognise Meireles yesterday, didn't realise he had cut his hair again.

RDM has deserved it. Not a lot of candidates to choose from, unless Roman is holding out for Pep? Anyway, I think he will do a good job at our rebuilding process come to think of it. We've seen he isn't afraid of playing our youngsters (Bertrand in CL final) and he's managed to get everyone on the same page. RDM did the best he could with the squad he had and we managed to win the FA Cup and the CL. Imagine what he can do now with the players we've signed!!

I guess our only viable option would be to extend Stamford Bridge. I'm kinda gutted too that we didn't manage to get Battersea. With talks of a one tier stand and retaining the chimneys, it could have been a really iconic stadium. Could you imagine - a champions league night and ITV panning out of the stadium, with the sun's rays skimping across the water front and blue lights enriching the stadium? *sigh*

Shame about Battersea but I would never give up hope. That sites been a wasteland for years despite many planned revamps.

5Live reporting RDM to be confirmed later this week. Not convinced he is the right choice but he had to at least be given a chance after last season.

Hope he continues to bring some younger players thru.

The BBC are now reporting this too. The website suggests the club are waiting until RDM gets back from his holiday on Wednesday.

Im happy with RDM, it would be crazy to not give him a chance after winning the CL. Whether he is the right man for the job is debatable, especially when we are going through a period of big change, he will need to gel the new players with the current squad which isnt always easy if there are many changes. But as others have said, Pep is the only other manager that i would want to see managing the team(other than Jose, but that is a no) I dont think pep is available till atleast next year, so it only leaves RDM for me. I would hate Benitez or Capello.

Yes, I agree, RDM is the sensible choice. I certainly didn't want Benitez or Capello either.
I'm a little surprised to hear they are "only" offering him £2 million a year on the rolling contract, especially after pulling off the CL miracle..Pep or Jose would probably have cost us 5 or 6 times as much.
Not so pleased to hear Ramires is thinking of leaving, back to Brazil apparently ?

I don't, but it was in an interview with a Spanish paper. He was talking about Torres and then the subject turned to his lack of playing time under Di Matteo. Manager said he believed in him, but then continued to overlook him.

Di Matteo probably deserves another season, but I'm not convinced it'll work out for us. 1-year deal aside, Abramovich is clearly waiting for Pep to take over, and that can't be good for Di Matteo or the players.

It was great to see Sheva score a couple tonight - I just hope he's knackered by the time they play England!

I absolutely adore Sheva, once a blue always a blue.

I know we have to play them but would still love him to get golden boot.

I always liked Shevchenko as well, despite all the criticism he got. Always though he was a fantastic striker on his day. He never had that terrible a record for us, injuries really hurt him though. Infact, i think he has a better record than Torres.

Glad for RDM too, he deserves it, im already looking forward to next season. A RB and CM would complete a brilliant transfer window, cant wait to see Hazard and Mata behind Torres! Good to see the Hulk rumours have died down too.

Liverpool fan in peace!

Do you guys think he can cope with a full league season? Obviously he did great in winning what he did, but your league form didn't really improve under him?

Im glad hes appointed, he deserved it, but as others said im surprised its a 2 year deal. As lets be honest, he will probably be sacked if he doesnt win the league. I would be happy with a title challenge and good cup runs, top 4 finish is a priority for sure. But im sure Abramovichs long term goal is to have pep in charge.

Well done Roberto.

Hope your fans get behind you.
