The likes of Rooney are a class below Messi and Ronaldo and i think Mata is a class below Rooney.

I disagree. Mata may not be in the same class to Messi or Ronaldo..who is ? But I think he's one of the best players in the Premiership.
I would probably agree with your rating, 7/10 seems about right. But I wouldn't rate Rooney any more than a 7 either..he's far too inconsistent for my liking
Hazard has already shown enough to convince me he could be an 8 or 9 by the end of the season, if he continues his current form.

Why on earth did Hodgson play Frank & JT for the full 90 mins? England were coasting from HT & there's another match Tuesday.

Frank had a great game though..probably the best I've seen Gerrard and Lampard playing together. Very weak opposition, so I suppose you can't really judge..but in the past we've sometimes struggled, even against mediocre teams.

Fellaini wants out of Everton....as early as January.

Suppose if we were really interested we would have made a move by now. Still, we can hope...

Yes. It's a pity we didn't make a move early in the summer transfer window. I expect his price has soared now.
I find it difficult to understand our team policy right now, can't complain about the results but the balance of the team seems strange.

We are set up trying to get the best out of Torres. Him up top alone, with 3 very creative players behind him to get him the ball, in the best possible position to score.

Sadly, although it sounds good on paper, i question whether Mata Hazard and Oscar can play together as those 3 players behind him. They all have a huge tendency to cut inside to go through the middle, rather than out to the wings. None of them are wingers. All are attacking midfielders. Our attack looks very narrow, and we are playing a lot like Arsenal. Lots of passing around the box but no real cutting edge. Opposition get men behind the ball and we dont look like breaking them down.

Need some genuine wingers, Marin/Sturridge/Moses etc will all be very useful i reckon.

And then we look very bad defensively. Midfield isnt providing protection, and we look very vulnerable to the counter. Our defence looks all over the place, slow and not sure what they are doing.

Guess that sums up our current situation, atleast if you believe the Athletico Madrid result is going to be a regular thing. Hope RDM can turn it around.

Cech needs elbow surgery. They say it will hold until the end of the season, but that doesn't sound too good, does it?

Chelsea Football Club have been named the European Football Club of the year in the European Club Association’s annual awards.

The London club received the award after winning the Champions League despite a 6th position in the English Premier League. The European champions overcame a resilient Napoli side when they were at the brink of being eliminated and went on to beat Barcelona and Benfica to reach the final at the Allianz Arena, where they won against the Bavarian giants on penalties and lifted the trophy for the first time in their history

Fantastic.

Not sure how many on here will remember him , but Ron Tindall, the Chelsea striker of the early sixties has died. I do remember him , but more as a cricketer for Surrey. He emigrated to Australia and became a very distinguished administrator and was awarded honours by the Austarlian
government. Played and managed Portsmouth as well.

Proper football is almost here again

Cole and Terry are doubtful. I never knew until earlier that Cahill didn't play the other night....was he injured?

Ferdinand has said he won't shake hands....with any luck we'll see more incidents like this. Enough so that they'll drop the handshake altogether.

Feels like its been ages since our last game! International football is boring to me now. Looking forward to the QPR game, wonder if the handshake will be canceled? Already talk of players are going to refuse shaking Cole/Terrys hand. Not sure if Terry will play though?

Our games against QPR,at the Bridge aside of late have been dull with the odd drama trown in..and we were poor in Derbies last season so hopfully get a good result here

The handshake...is daft. Its delt with..may not be the right result or what he wanted but cant just avoid it everytime we play QPR or if Anton was to move cancel it for that team.Time to move on really but doesnt look likely

i'm trying to recall a west ham v chelsea game, maybe 1980ish ,i went to when they were both in the 2nd division.there was about 10,000 locked out and people were getting pulled up the walls trying to get in.one of our mates got seperated and only found out when the rest of us got home he got crushed by a horse against a barrier and broke his leg. i remember seeing a barrier nearly flat on the ground from the crowds pressure .only remembered this after yesterdays big news.people could have easily died that day.i must have been about 13 or 14. anyone at that game ?

This whole handshake thing is absolutely pathetic, especially after what has happened this week, everyone involved needs to grow up.

Terry and Cole have been training, so Marin and Malouda will be the only unavailable players. Not sure about Mata. Ivanovic and Ramires haven't done well so far, so hopefully we'll see Azpilicueta and Oscar(?) in their place.

Most games I'd settle for a victory, but I really hope we batter them tomorrow.
