The Rolling Stones - for allowing Britney Spears to cover Satisfaction, i know it did nobodys careers any harm but still..

All Saints - for slagging off Girls Aloud during their comeback i don't think it helped their cause much

Sugababes - for the mess that now is the Sugababes

Kylie Minogue - for getting cancer, i know before you start it wasn't her fault and it was awful but Fever was massive she was huge and then she had to take a break and she never got it back.

Coldplay - Chris Martin in particular, for marrying Gwyneth Paltrow and becoming too preachy, their credibility isn't as high with a lot of people and they are seen as an annoyance.

Kylie - not releasing the one as the first single from X

Lady gaga - trying too hard with born this way and claiming it was the best album of the decade.....it wasnt!

Sugababes releasing any more music.

Radio 1 brown nosing every artist with a song in the top 40 and deciding that it's target audience are 12 year old girls... Well during the daytime anyways

His first album was a rap album though. If anything the Strickland album was the aberration. You obviously don't get him if you expected another concept album.

Kylie released Body Language and Ultimate Kylie (both platinum albums) after Fever and before her diagnosis. After her treatment, she released two more platinum albums and went on two world tours... one of them the biggest she's ever done. She might not have sold as many albums since 'Fever' (since 'Kylie' in actual fact), but the girl still has it.

Andy Hildebrand finding out that his data interpretation workstation for finding oil below the earth's surface http://inventors.about.com/od/astart...-Auto-Tune.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auto-Tune could be modified to create the Auto-tune pitch correction device in 1997.

That song wasn't released as a single though, it was an album track on the Oops album. Just as well it wasn't released though, I'd say it would have flopped or not been too popular.

- Pat Boone releases a cover album of heavy metal songs
- Sun Records gives up the contract of Elvis Presley
- Decca Records turn down the Beatles, stating that 'guitar bands are on the way out'
- Van Halen replace Dave Lee Roth with Sammy Hagar
- Queen's 'I Want To Break Free' video. Which completely killed their popularity in America.”

Winner (besides Decca turning down Beatles)

The video was Roger Taylors idea btw...(nothing to do with Freddie Mercury). A rock band doing a spoof of Corronation Street in drag... not a good idea. 1984 was around the new romantic period (loads of singers and bands in make-up) and Queen may have thought they could get away with it... big mistake.

The video was ridiculously banned by MTV .. and wasn't lifted until 1991. It wasn't until Freddie Mercury's death in 1991 (dead star effect) and Wayne's World featuring Bo Rhap (1992) that Queen regained their previous status in the US.

Bob Marley - Choosing religion over life saving surgery

I think he only did that to show he is ok with Gay men despite several homophobic lyrics in the majority of his albums. Although i still question it.

- Syco giving up on Echo [Leona Lewis] too soon. Such a strong album and even better than Spirit for me personally.

- Drummer Boy being chosen as the lead single from Alesha's The Entertainer. The album is probably my favourite of all time, and Drummer Boy is my least favourite song from it. So many other great songs could've been chosen.

- Polydor dropping Alesha's Fired Up album. What a mistake they made - such a funky album.

- The Saturdays deserting On Your Radar too soon.

Oasis - The Masterplan as a B-Side... would've been simply incredible had it been included on (What's the story) Morning Glory?.

I loved that video, it was just a bit of fun and Roger Taylor was strangely attractive in drag

Hope so, we need shows like this that will showcase real up and coming talent instead of the karaoke competitions we do have.

I got him..then I let him go.
The Strickland album was a masterpiece.Just a shame he didn't do something similar instead of reverting back to rap, which wasn't a patch on what was one of the best selling albums of 2010.Commercially, he shot himself in both legs.
Sure his 3rd album will sell well in its first week but I can guarantee it won't sell half of what 'Strickland Banks' did.

Hardly

He is going back to his roots. He said he doesn't expect his new album to sell as much as his second album did but that it's an album he wants to do.

The Major labels allowing i-tunes to initially have a monopoly over downloaded music.
Also, the resistance the Major labels have had against the 'digital era' in general - this has cost them billions & still is.

TOTP - no, please, no not with all this auto-tuned / electro hop (hip pop) shit about which dominates chart music.

The Old Grey Whistle Test - thought Later with Jools Holland was a vertial replacement for that.Think Later should be scrapped personally & an updated show put in it's place.BBC definately needs a show that show cases the quality end of pop / rock / alternative / electronic music etc.Don't think Jools's show does that adequately enough - a very hit & miss show. His antiquated presentation of the show seem to match some of the antiquated artists at times.

It definitely won't sell as well. A lot of his newer fans will drop him like a hot potato. That isn't a reflection on the quality of the music. I'm of the opinion that his debut was far superior and it was critically acclaimed, just like Strickland. The difference is a lot of bandwagoners jumped on because of the commercial sound and are now complaining that he isn't repeating it.

He is a rapper that can sing, not a singer that can rap.
