Madonna ~ 'I'm Breathless'
Sorry for starting another Madonna thread but I think this album deserves its own topic.
By rights its her 5th album but it is never regarded as such because of the fact some of the songs were used in the movie 'Dick Tracy'. Singles were "Vogue'', ''Hanky Panky'' and ''Sooner Or Later'' which was branded as one of the most awesome Oscar performances ever. Here's that performance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s15GTGdUuvM What did you think of Jazz Madonna?

I think as an album while i rank it as one of her lowest...i really enjoy the diversity she has with Jazz on the album really and the time travel style into House music towards the end.

One of my favourite Madonna albums. He's A Man and Something To Remember are brilliant songs, her covers of Sooner Or Later and More are good and the album is worth getting for I'm Going Bananas alone!

I rank it as her weakest album next to Music
I love that she did something different but i feel lyrically and musically, it just isn't very Madonna. I do like Sooner or Later but it's a part of her career i very much like to forget. |

'Dick, that's an interesting name'
Love the film and like this album. 'More' and 'What Can You Lose' are great. Just wish the film version of 'Back in Business' was on this album. |

Dick Tracy: No grief for Lips?
Breathless Mahoney: I'm wearing black underwear. Dick Tracy: You know, it's legal for me to take you down to the station and sweat it out of you under the lights. Breathless Mahoney: I sweat a lot better in the dark. There was something sexy about Madge in this scene. |

I absolutely love this album, although i've never actually seen the film. (Oddly though, not long before Woolworths closed down our local had dozens of Dick Tracy VHSs for 99p. They must have found a box of them in the store room. I never bought one, I don't have a VHS
)He's a Man and More are my two favourites. |

I actually think this time (1990) along with the Blond Ambition tour was Madonna at her ultimate peak. I mean she was massive. So much bigger than people today probably even realise. Michael Jackson and Madonna were just so famous at the height of their fame.

I mean it is quite something reading and experiencing everythinv from that era of time...Madonna literally was the top of the top of the top. Nothing like what everyone claims gaga, Britney, Kylie etc did at their peaks...MADONNA was officially THE peak. You cannot ever take that back...her influence everywhere and the media surrounding the BA tour...woah!

Madonna 1989 - 1991 really is a force unrivalled.

Not since Michael Jackson passed. Perhaps the Pope, the Queen and Obama.. |

I think only Britney in 2000 came close to what Madonna was but even then she was way off.

I absolutely love this album. I love the two 'Now I'm Following You' tracks, 'Something To Remember' is fantastic, 'More' and 'Hanky Panky' are amazing, I even really like 'Cry Baby' and 'I'm Going Bananas' - I think part of the reason I like it so much is I love the era it is set in/borrowed from.

A Madonna album I've never been remotely interested in buying. I have "Vogue" and that will do.

Even though it IS a studio album - it;s still more of a soundtrack to me (and to most of Madonna fans). I file it after Who's That Girl and before Evita - my collection goes Madonna-MDNA, then Immaculate Collection-Celebration, then WTG-Evita

I would agree with this, there was nothing like it when she was at her peak.
