Mona Lisa was sent to radio aswell. im guessing when she found out she was pregnant she scrapped the album and some tracks would have been used for Can You Handle Mine 2006 time but Her second child was due so that idea went and we finally got Blackout instead. I think Britney needs to confirm some stuff and release a fans special album cos we will always want it!”

Agreed.

Wish she would have released it!

Mona Lisa is one of my fave songs from her.

I don't know about Original Doll i like some of the leaked tracks and it would have had more of a personal stamp and although her input on blackout was minimal at best it was more of a WOAH than i think original doll would have been but would still like to hear it just for sense of continuity if only she had crossed her legs

I see what you mean. Original Doll i feel would have definitely on a comemrcial viewpoint been a "slump" at the time as the songs i feel are focused in a more maturer direction...the next step on from In The Zone. That darker theme coming into play, confessional and deeper stuff...she qould have lived a quarter of a century by then.....but Blackout as you say is WHAM "its Britney Bitch!" and that hits it hard. And Blackout very much brought Electropop to the fore a lot more really for Americans and Popular Music really too.

So it all worked out....but i NEED to hear it...i need to hear what Britney did for the album.

And it would`ve made an amazing video think of her look just after My Prerogrative and Do Somethin.
Stunning!

Britney wasn't the one who scrapped Original Doll it was Jive from the research i done into it apparently Jive though the Original doll album would not do well and the songs were not Radio friendly... in other words they wanted to keep the Dance Britney alive.

an album like Original Doll would give Britney so much more credit, i hope one day we get the whole track list from OD, if not then i want and album like it in the future.

I really think this needs to be confirmed by Britney herself i dont see why she would want to work hard on an album and have it shelved Jive if they did are swines!! . I hope we get it one day aswell

I agree that Jive were afraid of the album's non-commercial and risky concept, but I also think they scrapped it because they feared it would alienate a huge part of her fanbase with its lyrics and urban undertones. I don't know why, but I get the feeling that throughout her entire career, JIVE has been trying to manage her like she's still 16 with the student uniform. They haven't realized her fanbase has changed

I definitely want 'Original Doll' to leak, but I want it to leak with a bang! (I'll explain). There are many ways to market your material and the Internet is a massive launching pad for promotion, so if the album leaks and Britney mentions it on Twitter/ Facebook or if her fans make it trend on Twitter, then the blogs will post it and the tracks will get the shine and recognition they deserve

Very much like that idea actually.

Like viral marketing.

Not sure if this is real or not but this is a fan conceptualisation of what they think the Original Doll would have been like

Yeah i love it too...i think they are two images taken from the proposed photoshoot and fans made it how they thought it may be as a final product.

But as we knwo that didnt happen But at least we got some of the material on her hits and Remix album i suppose and in Demo and unfinished form circulating You Tube...but i dont think My Perogative or Do Somethin would be on the album though nor do i think its just 11 songs on the album.

So i do hope it leaks in full as a viral like O.michel thought out

But by that it does look like the opus that never was

It was a dark phase in her life, so maybe having to promote such personal material would make it worse Maybe the album's scrapping was for the best after all She still has plenty of time to deliver an honest album with an experimental sound. She's just 30!

(Thanks for the shout out btw )

Yeah you are right...i mean had Original Doll been released we would never have had the dark opus that is Blackout. So all clouds and their silver linings etc.

So by ot having what could have been a massive opus....would have lead to another never being realised. And yes had she have promoted the material there maybe it would have indeed pushed her over the edge....i cannot imagine a Britney-less world though It all worked out for the best...and i would love for it to be shown to the world one day

And my pleasure O.Michel....i love posters like you that can really "discuss" thinvs and analyse stuff to cause something constructive to talk about and stuff...and i love seeing others ideas too its always so interesting to analyse stuff.....sometimes i overanalyse though lol.

Definitely, it all worked out in the end. I feel like 'Blackout' still gets less recognition that it deserves, but at least the label let her release it. 'Circus' was a bit of a step back ( some gems in there but a lot of filler), but 'Femme Fatale' was a step in the right direction. I feel like now Britney should start taking more control and after a proper stage comeback, she should release an album that's personal and risky. It could be like a trilogy alongside with 'ITZ' and 'BO'. The masses and the media are more prepared to accept a mature and left-of-centre Britney now.

But the priority is for her to be healthy and find her mojo as a performer. The VMA's are starting to get so boring lately, a Britney comeback of sorts could spice things up a little!

As far as overanalyzing goes, I tend to overanylize a lot too (obviously ), so no worries.

I think Blackout was her best album. An In The Zone-Original Doll-Blackout trilogy would have been amazing! I think Britney's next album should either be Original Doll or a personal album similar to it. Femme Fatale is my second favourite Britney album.
