Hi

I set up my aunt's Sky email on her new iPad and there's a couple of quirks.

Firstly, I set it up as a Gmail account as I know it's supplied by Gmail. This worked fine, but didn't pull over any of her contacts. So I deleted the account and set it up as Exchange, which was working fine and pulled over all the Contacts.

The problem is that it's apparently not syncing all email. New messages are there, but not older ones and some have disappeared. They're all available through the Sky email web interface. Any ideas why this might be?

Also, how can we change the sender name? It's currently using her husbands name (he never uses it, but presumably had a Sky email inbox at some point). There's no option to change sender name on the iPad itself, and when she logs into her inbox on the web there's only her name in any of the settings.

Any help appreciated!

You need to mark all read messages as unread then they will load on the ipad

Really?! Why? Surely Exchange is a complete sync, no?

Maybe I'm better doing it via IMAP and just use Exchange to sync contacts

You do not need to mark messages as unread or anything else. It will happily synch all messages with an Exchange server. Doing it every day on my iPad.

What you might want to check are a couple of settings that determine how many messages you see. In Settings tap the Mail section. In the main display check the Show setting. This can be set as low as 50 items.

The other setting is in the account set-up. So tap the account name then check the Mail Days To Synch setting. That sets to a week by default if I recall setting up several iPads correctly.

That may explain why there only a limited number of messages showing. So worth checking just in case.

Ah yeah, it's probably mail days! I set it to sync the max messages, but didn't change the days option. Cheers. I'll let her know and see!
