Surely if its a record contract with Simon the he choses the winners song. So say for example the final was between Rowetta and Tabby Simon would be able to choose a big power ballad that wouldn't suit Tabby and Rowetta would win.
However I think that with the format this year of groups / old / young categories and no theme week but singers singing songs that (supposedly?) are what they're all about, that in the final an appropriate song for EACH artist will be chosen. It would be bloody silly otherwise.
