Rag

Does anyone know if the LG-3200e is compatible with RCE DVDs?

Yes.

All you have to do is the following:

1.Turn on the machine and wait till it says No Disc on top right
hand corner of screen.
2. Press pause on remote.
3. Key in 314159 on remote
4. You should see COdE -- on machine.
5. Key in 1 on remote
6. Press pause again onj remote and it should say No Disc.
7. Now power off the machine and then when you turn it back on it will play RCE discs.

It will only work if your firmware is better than 1.0

If it doesn't work you can find out what your firmware is by the following:

1. Press Setup on remote.
2. Select TV Aspect.
3. Place the cursor on 16:9 Wide.
4. Press 1397139.
5. Press Enter on remote
6. Press Setup to return to menu once info is read.

If your machine is connected to tv by s-video lead you will find you cannot see anything in screen. To fix this do the following:

1. Power off if still on and power back on again.
2. Wait for No Disc on machine LED.
3. Press Setup on remote.
4. Press Down seven times slowly.
5. Press Right, then Up, then Enter.
6. Your screen will come back on.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the response - is this the same hack as the region free hack or are they diferent. I only asked if the lg-3200e was RCE compatible as I've heard that some region free machines are not RCE compatible.

Yes this is the same hack for multi-regional capabilities.

To make it play all regions, instead of pressing 1 after you see COdE -- on the LED of machine, press 0.

Most machines play RCE discs by doing the exact same procedure as the LG-DVD3200E, but obviously doing a different key sequence on remote according to make of machine, by making the disc think that you are actually in America with a region 1 machine. RCE discs wont work when machine is set for multi-region ie region 0 but when put to region 1 they work fine.
