Who were/are the best girlband of all-time?
In your own opinions of course
For me, I've gotta say TLC. So many amazing songs; Waterfalls, Creep, Unpretty, No Scrubs, Aint 2 Proud 2 Beg just to name a few. Lisa is sorely missed and I just think they're brilliant and I'm not typically a RnB fan I also like All Saints, Destiny's Child, Sugababes 2.0 and 3.0 and Girls Aloud but TLC are miles above them all for me Spice Girls had some nice songs (2 Become 1, Viva Forever and Say You'll Be There being my personal favourites) but are just a bit too cheesy for me As for the likes of Atomic Kitten, B*Witched, Saturdays (well Higher and Up are ok), Parade, Stooshe - |

The Supremes do it for me.
I would love to record an album of covers of their songs in tribute. In my head I have the tracks, the ideas for the accompanying videos, my duet partner for the duets they did with the Temptations and even the producer! |

Of the girlbands from my lifetime it has to be All Saints for me. I just loved them so much growing up and was gutted when they split.

Destiny's Child for me. Got some great classic songs. Hope they reunite one day.
Danity Kane were great too, even though they only had 2 albums. |

The term "girl band" is fairly sexist, considering most of the women in them are grown adults.
I'd say the best female bands are/were: Babes in Toyland L7 Bikini Kill (I know they had a guy too...) Team Dresch The Breeders |

I like a few but The Spice Girls made history and are my favourites. They were involved in writing there songs and had complete control over everything. Inspirational.

The Ronettes and The Supremes produced and managed by Phil Spector are the only decent girl bands.

The Three Degrees, The Supremes and Bananarama. I do like some of the Girl Aloud tracks, written by Xenomania.

Since no one else is mentioning them, I thought I needed to add the incredible BROWNSTONE to the list
![]() They only had two albums and they never had the success of TLC, En Vogue etc but their harmonies were incredible - much better than the likes of SWV, Destiny's Child etc. Tracks like Grapevyne and 5 Miles to Empty are stone-cold classics - I would encourage anyone who likes soulful R&B to check out their albums if they haven't already. I used to keep hearing rumours that they were coming back but I don't think it will ever happen now
