In fairness, BGT got its biggest ever audience on a baking hot June day when the main show started at 6.30pm. That 18m were sat inside on a sweltering Saturday evening watching SuBo sheer beggared belief...

Seems ridiculously early to me.”
On the other hand, with the loyal audience it has built up (its "rump" must be at least 7-8m), people will sit down to watch at 6.10pm and stay with it when BGT starts. So even if The Voice only gets 7m that night, it is going to screw over BGT at 6.30pm (presumably they can't now shift it to 7.45?), which may well find its bloated marathon 2.5hr final gets significantly less than The Voice's unopposed final will get and may therefore rank below it in the end of year ratings charts.
I feel there may just be a whiff of panic at ITV Towers right now...
