The Voice is in free fall. Could end up with SYTYCD figures at this rate. It need's to stabilise maybe at 8 million.

It's quickly fallen back to where I would off expected it to be in the first place. Next week it could be really low. I think it will be down to the 6 million mark.

I think you are a bit harsh when you say it is unmatchable. It is just very flat. The show had no go in it.

Agree with "everyone", well i still find TV more watchable than BGT

I didn't feel overly impressed about BGT ether. I thought BGT felt as slow and dragged out as the voice last night as well.

But next week the voice is going to be low. 6.10 is to early.

It had a Goldilocks slot last night - starting just 2 minutes after the Cup Final whistle blew with 11m of an audience ready to transfer and with no BGT overlap in the prime slot of the evening. Coldest May Saturday in over 30 years to boot.

God alone knows where it will rate if it has a few things going against it. I dont thnk the BBC can crank up the PR machine any further to help it - it simply isnt credible now as they mis sold the show on the basis of providing something it isn't.

It's got to get through tonight first. Below 8m for first time?

Predictable overreaction to The Voice suffering from stupidly clashing with the end of the first ever primetime Cup Final.

I doubt the 11m watching the end of the match suddenly switched at the final whistle, BBC1 must have been trounced for the first 20 mins or so of The Voice. They should have started it at 7.30, but in the circumstances 8.2m and 9.1m peak are great numbers when the football will have locked viewers into ITV1 for the night.

It must be the pulling power of 30 minutes of Roy, Gareth and Adrian combined with the Andy Carroll's interview skills that killed TV.

Dont buy a tv with a lock on it then!

The football wasnt even on in Scotland - 1/4 of the UK

I think they need to have less talking on The Voice. After each performance it was like 'blah blah blah' between Holly and the contestant. I was thinking 'get on with it'. Not sure Holly is right for the main host part.

huge error by the BBC not putting the live results on the same night for The voice.
the song choices are just dire for a show that didnt want to look like the Xfactor The cheesy Dancers are telling another story.

The whole show is just flat with judges comments clearly off a script,Holly was better last night but still not good enough to be the head presenter Many said in the voice thread last night the show felt 2-3 hours long its just dragging along with no real bounce

It's a pretty dull programme. We managed about 10 minutes of it last night before turning over.

Some dodgy camera work on display as well at times, to add to the growing list of problems with the show.

Agree with what you say. I watched yesterdays The Voice and was impressed by the improvement the show had made from a weeek earlier, it had better contestants, song choices and the coaches apart from will i am improved. It was an all round better show. The football is very popular with young people, as is The Voice, so many footy fans wouldve been in the pub and not able to get home in time to watch the Voice.

I got slated for criticizing Holly as host, beware of TV fans!

I just think TV feels very flat. The auditions were quite complelling and I even enjoyed the battle rounds, but the last two weeks were boring. There are too many contestants, and the way they do two coaches each week is stupid, you HAVE to get rid of someone from each team when one team could have 3 Terrible people, it just feels silly. I really like Danny and WIll am is good too, but very nervous. Jessie should be replaced IMO, especially after seeing her on Graham Norton, she's a horrible person.

Think it will fall VERY low next week with the earlier start, it might pick up after a few weeks, if and when they amalgamate all the groups, I'm assuming that happens at some point?

Scotland isn't a quarter of the UK population, it's 5m out of 62m (8%).

Dumfries & Galloway and Borders have ITV1.

I agree with your point that it shouldn't have affected The Voice. As soon as the final whistle went (just after 7pm) Voice fans would have switched over, rather than stay for The Cube on ITV.

The FA Cup Final is not the reason for the poor performance of The Voice last night. The football was on FTA TV so there was no reason for large numbers of people to congregate in pubs to watch it at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon.

George, there are 5m Scots out of a UK population of 62m. Southern Scots get Border TV which showed the Cup Final. So I don't know where your quarter comes from.

Either you are desperately spinning, or we should fear for the number of paperclips you are buying in at ITV Towers!

Which, going by the experience with the SCD live results, would have given a much much lower rating than the Sunday rating for that show (as well as causing issues around the lateness of Casualty for example).

Much improved last night I thought - I had actually heard of many of them!

Strange, as I can only recall one song with dancers this week, and even though I don't think that they need to be there, for this one song they were pretty much complementary to the song and overall performance.

Overall it was a much better programme that the previous week's, but still room for improvement

Course that's a factor but, without having the figures to hand, I'm sure it has been some time since the FA Cup audience has been that high and finals have featured both Chelsea and Liverpool in recent years.

Of course another factor might well be the type of audience ITV can attract between 5 and 7 is perhaps more attractive to advertisers than one between 3 and 5.

Why should I be spinning? I'm just pointing out (since you forgot to!) that the football wasnt shown in Scotland. So 11m peak isn't bad for a regional programme on ITV

Between kick off at 17.15 and 19.10, an average of nearly 9 million people were watching the FA Cup Final on @ITV

Source: Jenny Cummins

As that includes the half-time filler, the actual match average must've been just over 9m.
