They should probably just stick The Cube is as Voice fodder for an hour and start Britain's Got Talent at 8.45pm.

OK, thanks for that. I was obviously looking in the wrong place on the FA site!

I'm glad you posted a link to that, because...

Thankfully for BBC, that kick-off is 5:15pm, although it will be on ITV1... friendlies before WC/Euro's tend to do well, so something worth noting.

The Big Quiz didnt start until 8.12pm, quite a bit later than tv listings say.

Does that mean its a middle sized quiz now or will Titanic be shunted on?

Despite the late quiz start, ITV1's continuity announcer still said that Titanic would be on at 9pm (the quiz hopefully being sliced up as we speak).

SM the host is such an odious presenter. I turned over on mute to avoid his voice, within 2 seconds of seeing he was in fact the host - I was back on the Best of Top Gear. It deserves <2m viewers.

Well you can always watch ITV2 instead!

Talking of which I've always felt Britains Got More Talent was one of the better spin-off shows - mainly thanks I think for the access they have to Ant and Dec and the judges, but although I don't personally think he is odious a change in presenter this year might have been welcome as it has got rather stale.

I can't say I'm surprised. I can't believe ITV1 are airing such rubbish at 8pm on a Sunday night.

You did see their schedule last summer?

They'd have been better off keeping The Cube on Sundays.

15th April
8.00 The Big Quiz: Benidom vs. The Only Way Is Essex

22nd April
8.00 Vera

Even if you hate Vera you can't deny that's a leap in quality.

Saying that, even the change from The Big Quiz to Titanic is a leap in quality.

Yeah, their schedule last summer wasn't great either but it just doesn't sound great to me when TOWIE takes over a primetime Sunday night slot on ITV1!

I think they should have stuck Family Fortunes on. The Big Quiz should have been put on ITV2.

It all adds up now, The Big Quiz must have been delivered in different lengths to mop up any FA Cup over-run, they wouldn't want to go to Titanic late considering it was supposed to be a hit and they are running a real life Titanic documentary at 10pm.

You can't edit down Family Fortunes.

Haven't the BBC said they have no interest in doing a spin-off show? The whole push for The Voice around the globe has been social media and online content and the BBC seems to be continuing that trend.

Worth mentioning that barely anyone watches the Tony awards despite the fact they air on CBS.

What was wrong with You've Been Framed? 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minute specials it fills a gap.

seems more logic, as it would air before before Benidorm and TOWIE

Yes, Itv1 needed to show a programme which they could take entire segments out of in case the FA Cup over-ran. They mustve had a 60 minute version of Big Quiz, 45 minute version [which was shown] and maybe even a 30 minute version. But Youve Been Framed couldve done that job Andy23!

So, it was the biggest night of TV in Australia so far this year last night. Check back here later for full ratings coverage as they come in, including those all important numbers for the launch of The Voice Australia (which faced Seven's long-running hit Dancing with the Stars).

The marketing wars were easily won by Channel Nine with this spread on pages 2 and 3 of the Sunday Herald and Sunday Telegraph:

Channel Seven meanwhile had to settle for pages 22 and 23:

Dancc is it true Channel Nine over-ran The Voice Australia into The Logies slot? This might mean a big peak for the first episode if lots of Logie viewers stumbled across it. I hear from sources that the show was a bit slow, but that same criticism was used towards the first episode of the UK's first episode too. On a positive note, the talent is strong on Voice Australia from clips Ive seen on YouTube which should help it going forward. I think The Voice Australia will just about beat Dancing with the Stars but itll be close.

I have two questions

1) why is The Block on a rollercoaster?

2) why is 7 exploiting the memory of Titanic, I get that it has some Titanic specials, but they are over doing it with the big headline, and the Dancing With the Stars image?

I wonder if they'll push the social media angle during the live shows? It'll pad it out if so.

Given that it airs in the summer which is a ratings dead period, it does decently but compared to big award shows like the Oscars and the Grammys, I agree it pales in comparison. I'm surprised neither BBC Four or Sky Arts air the Tonys as there is an audience for it.

First I've heard of any overrun. I'd have thought Nine would want to hit the Logies on time, they also do the red carpet stuff beforehand.

The main criticism of The Voice Australia seems to be a poor host in Darren McMullen, so I'm guessing he features more than Holly and Reggie do on our version. Surprised they went for him to be honest, last I heard he was presenting some low-rent gameshow on ITV2. Bit of a step up!
