Might be a long shot, but given Digital Switchover has just happened in the most densely populated part of the UK i.e. London, could this be a reason for drops in both shows total compared to last week?

May I suggest that it's because BARB calculate these ratings based on a tiny sample of people. So if one person in the BARB sample misses an episode of The Voice because they're stuck in the bog with a bout of food poisoning, then that knocks x hundred thousand off the ratings all apparantly stuck in the bog with food poisoning.

I did when I was ditching the torrential rain in the North East and I can say the Wright Stuff and Live With are light years ahead of the tired ITV1 morning shows where the same content that was on Daybreak/ Lorraine is rehashed an hour later. The Wright Stuff deserves to do better as its format is vastly better than Crap Morning's. Also being over there with a better Freeview, quite liking Five USA.

I completely agree with you. The Wright Stuff is a brilliant morning show. I always tune in if I'm around in the mornings. It's such a shame that it doesn't do that well. It deserves better figures.

Watched The Voice tonight. The battle rounds were actually really enjoyable and entertaining (prefer them to the blind auditions). I think it'll definetly get over 10m for tonight's show.

Not sure if the big figure will boost Silent Witness slightly.

Wow by some of the comments on this thread today have been ridiculous. Both shows are doing fantastically well and other shows would love to get ratings like this every week.

Remember this is a country of about 60 million people i really don't know what ratings some posters expect.

Because they can't air highlights of the 1pm races until 5pm. The plan originally was to air these 5.30pm-7pm but then The Voice came along and had to be slotted in along with news and Countryfile.

So they just lopped 10 minutes off the F1 today.

F1 fans were screwed when half the live races were given up to find money to acquire The Voice. Now we've been robbed of 10 minutes more race highlights to get The Voice into the Sunday night schedule.

They should have added 10 minutes onto the F1, 15 mins onto The Voice (it could have done with it) and scrapped Countryfile as it wasn't even a new episode.

I think Countryfile seems to have taken on some sort of PSB "sacred cow" hold on the weekly schedules - new show or compilation, it is always on now, every week of the year. Even at Christmas, it was on but displaced to Wednesdays.

well I lost all my channels then and haven't been able to retune so no TV in this house all week. I can't be the only one.

seems the only negative comment a lot on twitter felt about the voice it was very shouty in the batteround.That being said I thought the battle round was a lot better than Audition phase of the series.

Not sure if its still the case but if ITV are still banning all things The voice holly is going to be on Tv and doing the live shows unable to talk about it.Or will that ban suddenly be lifted when BGT ends?

But surely the shares would've held up? The Voice's share last week was 45.5% compared to 42.3% this week. Britain's Got Talent share last week was 39.5% (+1: 2.3%) compared to 38.2% (+1: 2.2%) this week.

It was very enjoyable and tonight's was once again Entertaining. I think the Battle rounds is quite a good idea tbh. I think over 10 million could of tuned in tonight as it was Sunday and took a slightly later slot.

Incredible. A single show has completely turned the Aussie ratings race on it's head. We said last week there would be casualties from all this reality clashing - quite clearly DWTS is the first one. Under a million - Seven must be feeling some serious heat. They went all out with their big shows versus The Voice, and they're being crushed!

Amazing how De Mol made an instant-hit show once again. I'm so curious how I Love My Country will score on the BBC since it's a big hit here in Holland, compareble with the Voice. It does depend on the capitains/ presenter to make it work thou.

Nine must be estatic and Ten a bit depressed that they lost the bidding war for it.

Is there any way Seven can move Dancing with the Stars to 8.30pm? They may as well and try and save the situation now rather than fight The Voice. The Voice itself is performing astoundingly.

That's a staggering performance for The Voice Australia. For all the talk of how impressive the show has launched over here (and undoubtedly its been an incredibly impressive launch) The Voice was just thrown to the wolves in Australia and has blown everything out of the water. Almost enough to make you wish that The Voice UK and Britain's Got Talent had actually gone properly head-to-head just to see how that would have worked out. Going to be interesting to see how it does over the rest of the run.

Also its interesting to see how much pressure is now on the SyCo shows not just in the UK but globally because of this one show that has just exploded everywhere. The same is true for the Strictly/Dancing with the Stars format as well which is coming under a huge amount of pressure internationally from The Voice. In fact even here in the UK you'd think it has to be putting the show under a little bit of pressure. We've mentioned how much pressure the success of The Voice here puts on The X Factor later in the year but surely its also putting a fair bit of pressure on Strictly to live up to what its doing now and really properly take the fight to The X Factor.

Last night was the last Sunday night episode of The Voice iirc. I think it will be on Monday's and Tuesday's for the rest of the run.

The reason the BBC wanted The Voice is because the BBC needed a new big Saturday night show.

I can't imagine TV would have ever been a threat to Strictly in the Uk as it's unlikely they'd ever have aired at the same time whether it were on the BBC or not.

The Sun, like the Daily Mail, are keen to attach ratings to something a bit more scandalous so draw links to their serialisation of the Cowell book.

Interestinly AGT went back up to espectable levels on Wednesday[1.4m] when there was no 'Voice'.
it will be interesting to see what happens when both shows go Live. I think AGT will just be on Tuesday then, but I do wonder if they'll be tempted to move it to Wednesday.
