Just skimmed through Waterloo Road on the iPlayer. Can't help but wonder if they wanted to make the move to Scotland seem more realistic by adding as many unrealistic things into the episode as possible. The whole thing was ridiculous.

This programme is not produced by Channel 5 so they won't benefit but it's nice to see anyway. Which network is it, Ten?

My problem with moving Casualty (and Being Human for that matter) to Cardiff was the argument of spreading BBC Drama's to the regions, I thought Bristol was already in one of the regions, how was moving it to Casualty going to help anything.

They moved Casualty because they'd made a huge investment in new studios in Cardiff and needed to fill 'em. A programme that runs for virtually 52 weeks of the year fits the bill.It allegedly created new jobs (although jobs were lost in Bristol so presumably cancelled that out). Casualty actually began in London.

Good decision to recommission The Syndicate. I understand what people were saying about it being a self contained story but there are always ways around that, and I think they would have been mad not to bring it back.

I read somewhere recently that ITV are developing a second series of Marchlands as well which was also originally self contained but proved to be quite popular.

Also ABC in America want to rename 'Only Fools and Horses' to something else for their remake. They have two suggestions so far: Only Fools and Kings of Van Nuys, in reference to the Los Angeles district replacing Peckham in the remake. Both are rubbish titles if you ask me. If you have better names for it, go to Modern Family's facebook page and give your ideas there cos ABC are asking fans to give suggestions.

Decent finale ratings for Waterloo Road. It looks like it has maintained high enough ratings this series to be in with a chance after the move to Scotland. I think they handled the story reasonably well (the lorry incident was a step to far for me though), and at least making it a boarding school explains how some of the kids can stay in the show without all their families uprooting. The boarding school should also open up opportunities for fresh storylines too.

Elsewhere great rating for the football on ITV1. A rare occasion that an all foreign tie rates so well and really hypes up expectations for the final next month. The Apprentice also did well against such stiff opposition, particularly as the demographics would both skew young.

How can some of these chavs in Waterloo Road afford to go to boarding school?

And Sue Johnston is joining Coronation Street. However, I can't imagine it takes very long to film an episode - they only use a couple of sets at the most. If they get all the cast together I doubt it takes more than a few days to shoot.

Just depends if there's a script!

Actors do many different projects over a year.

I dunno why the script has to be written by Caroline Ahearne. Cant someone else write the script, its not like her scripts have been that great in the last few years anyway.

99 percent certain both games will be live on BBC One.

It seems that Ch4 and Ch5 both beat BBC2 last night, and NCIS does really well for them, and if they do have to say bye to some of the CSI's next year, at least they know NCIS is stable...

They said how this would be the case in the show, it would be a boarding schoolw ith no fees involved and the kids going are ones more likely to be ones with no home life i.e. in care

The school has moved to Scotland (and a different educational system) because BBC Scotland has taken over the programme ? Does that mean every programme made by BBC Scotland/Wales/Northern Ireland has to be set and filmed in those respective countries ? Surely the programme could have remained in Rochdale with a different production team but keeping the same characters and actors ?

ITV do seem determined to ensure there won't be any more Royle Families, despite the fact they make it for the BBC...

But with 12m viewers, you can see why.

They are setting up an independent school but not a private school. The ex-Waterloo Road student who became very rich and showed up a few episodes ago to make the proposition to the headmaster, will be paying to run the school herself as a benefactor. This way they can presumably run their own curriculum as well rather than following the Scottish one.

Good stuff. I was rubbished on here months ago when I suggested the BBC would be mad not to get these games on BBC1, and they have done just that. Could deliver massive ratings if the tournament goes well for Team GB. The Brazil friendly should nicely whet the appetite.

That is a super rating for NCIS considering the competition from the big two. Really pleased with its performance this season. It has had the least promotion out of all the imports currently on 5, it's a second run show, each episode has a rapid repeat on Saturday and yet it does as well as that. If only there was a way they could nab the first run rights from FX- overnights above 2m would be the norm then and they would be able to show two seasons in quick succession.

Who needs The Royle Family when you've got Miranda and Mrs Brown's Boys?

Silk Starts the week of the 12-18th May according the BBC press office update, no doubt on Tuesday I would have thought.
