Good afternoon all. Been at football watching my baby play and getting just a bit cold - it's been lovely here but freezing and as I look out the window now, it's snowing

Just waiting on the Grand National, like most people, it's the only time I ever put on a bet and we let the kids pick a horse too. Come on Calgary Bay, Junior, Synchronised, Calle Bleu (?) or, the horse with the best name ever, Shakalakaboomboom

I didn't put a bet on in the end so will go mad now if Shakalakaboomboom or West End Rocker wins.

They have just caught Synchronised after his jockey fell off going down to the start Hope he is able to run still

Just turned on to watch the GN. What a farce! How idiotic in this day and age that they can't get the tape right. How awful for the horses.

It is crazy isn't it. I can't watch it now as I hate seeing the horses fall . I am recording it and if they all come back safe and sound I will watch it

I used to pick a Horse but every Horse i had was Killed so i have'nt done it for years i think it should be baned

Totally agree with you Kaye.

It is so sad when that happens The fences are a lot safer now, but I think it is the number of horses in the race that cause a lot of the problems

Good Evening all.
So so sad about the 2 horses at the GN. An awful shame. Don't like the way they got whipped at the final stretched to the finishing line either.

Anyway just popped on to wish you all well and even though you maybe fed up with it all there is a programme on radio 2 of interest at 11.30 pm which takes you minute by minute with the sinking of the Titanic from the moment it hits the iceberg to the slipping beneath the waves.
Worth a listen.

So sad about the 2 horses at the GN . I put a bet on every year and have done since I was a child, it's tradition now. But every year, I feel sick watching it and say never again
