Simon Cowell has already hinted tonight that there are some real bizarre performances tomorrow. I get the impression he was hinting at Louis Walshs groups - specifically G4. Simon may not be too gentle with them tomorrow.

Praised by the judges for singing a stupid and inappropriate song with no redeeming features of any sort? Sorry, I think your friend is living on another planet.

As much as Louis is being brave (some might say foolish) with his song choice - Simon is being quite cowardly. I mean everyone's already heard Ro do Somewhere over the Rainbow - and knows that its good.

I would have thought Louis would choose Bohemian Rapsody for G4 to ensure they are no longer in this precarious position they seem to be in at the mo'.

Perhaps Ro is not pulling in as many votes as we think....

.....I have a strange feeling G4 may be picking up so much sympathy at Louis` song choice that it could actually go in their favour and they could gain the sympathy vote this week?????

Didn't their voice coach say they were singing it in the original style? Can't wait to see them in pigtails and socks

Their "voice coach" should be having a word in the ears of Louis.
I think I heard him say he wanted them to do it in the original style. He must be on the same planet as Louis.

Maybe you're right. I didn't warm to them much at first but I feel very sorry for them now. Their talent has been squandered and disrespected by a bad manager. Ok... let's hope they do manage to salvage some dignity by pulling in a good vote, and thrashing the execrable 2 To Go.

I really dont know what is going on in Louis` head? He seems to want G4 to sing songs that their sort of group would never usually sing. This must be what he thinks is "original" in his mind. He needs someone to send him a list of decent songs that would suit G4 otherwise I dread to think what is next.

.......This morning I thought the worst he could give them to sing would be Westlife.......how wrong can you get. I remember him saying on This Morning a couple of weeks ago he thought they would make it to the final - not with songs like this they won`t

I dont know how Philip Scofield kept a straight face on This Morning this week when Louis said that G4 would be singing something totally different from last week. I thought he had finally got the message.

.......I know what you mean. How different things would have been if Simon Cowell had got the groups. Say what you like about the man, at least he would have given them songs appropriate for them

I am thinking that Louis is deliberately sabotaging G4 but there isnt a lot we can do. Listening to their vocal coach talking to Ben, I really dont hold out much hope. He seems to be as much in the dark as Louis Walsh. Louis should seek the advice of someone used to dealing with the sort of music that G4 have been trained in as it has become obvious that he either doesnt have a clue or is deliberately obliterating this young groups dreams.

I am intruiged about Rowetta - she seems a lot calmer than when we first saw here, I imagined they would have problems keeping her quiet when the others are being talked to.
I wish Steve would say more, I like him, but he needs to respond more when he is asked questions.
I am looking forward to hearing G4, but I doubt very much they can pull it off. Obviously they will sound good, as they clearly are an amazing group, but I would much rather hear them sing something heavy and rocky maybe.

WHOA!!!!!! This is quite shocking!!1 I cant believe this! G4 is toast if they sing that song!! That is soooo sad! Louis, have you lost your mind! DAMN!!!Rowetta took a risk with that U2 song last week, that was a strange one that worked out good, so singing the rainbow song is good. I am glad we will hear more of it!!! and it is a great song for her!she needs a good solid song this week!

From the little I heard of 'Amazing Grace',I thought it was quite horrendous.
Didn't think Steve sounded anything special either. If anything he still sounded husky.

When I heard Steve with his laryngitis I thought fair enough, this is 50% according to Simon. But he sounded exactly the same - or near enough - when he had supposedly recovered.

I'm reserving judgement on G4 for the moment, so far they have my sympathies. As has been said many times on this thread Louis is obviously not capable of dealing with an act like this - not because they are so brilliant, but they are different than the bands/artists LW has had success with.

Hey there, I'm new, so howdy all!

Just thought I'd inject a fresh opinion. Stupid song choices are not necessarily a bad vote. Think Rationally, if G4 and 2 to go are in the bottom , Louis can save his stronger group, (prob G4, by a whisker) and next week via the sympathy vote they should be safe and secure. But what if the same happens to 2 to go, and they're safe this week? I wouldn't bet against it. What if Steve or Rowetta are there against G4? is Sharon gonna side with Simon? Louis knows 2 to go will have avid fans on the phones...it could save them.

I feel sorry for Emma and Peter, they have a dire repertoire to work with (name me one credible boy/girl duet which have lasted, and produced a half decent song? Single figures eh!) and it would do the music industry no harm at all to have these two sort it out finally. Anyone remember PI2? Who was in the bottom 3 the first week? Leon (amazing), Kirsty (pretty good), and a certain finalist called Mark(average)...

Anyway, sympathy and tactics play more a part than songs. It wouldn't surprise me if any of them won this comp, all predictability went out the window ages ago. But will any of them last? Pessimistic feel here.

Anyhow, I think the G4 will sing one more time after this weeks show...(sorry bout the pun)

Mr T :-P

Hey there Mr T, and welcome to the forum. That's a well argued and brave post.... which isn't to say that I agree with a single word of it. Yes I remember PI2, and I think you must be Leon's dad, or his brother.
