Artists you think will still be getting Number 1s in 10 years time?

.... Including Number 1 albums and Singles.
The continuing trend is for older artists to succeed with album sales but fall short singles wise.

And the tempramental way our UK singles chart is atm, who knows who'll still be around in 10 years' time?

Anyway... any ideas? Singles and albums wise?

I don't know, the music industry is so fickle. People have highs and lows.

People we expect to not be around in the next 2 years may still be around in 10 years time, it depends on the right material and if people can keep up with the trends.
I wouldn't put it past Madonna to still be selling a lot of music in 10 years time.

I don't think you can really predict this, so much can happen in a decade. Who would have thought that pre-Umbrella Rihanna would go on to become one of the biggest stars in the world?

This is true. I always forget it was only after album number 3 Rihanna became huge.

Rihanna is one i could see still hitting number 1 in 15/20 years time... along with Gaga.
However, with Gaga I feel she'll be more successful album-wise while Rihanna will be singles wise.

I don't think Lady Gaga and Rihanna will still be getting #1s in 10 years time (as much as I like Rihanna, I can't see that happening).

Most pop artists don't have very long careers when you really think about it, especially careers where they're still big enough to get #1s after 10 years.

Rock artists tend to have the longest music careers I think, but they do better in the album charts.

Well popstars from when I started listening to music still getting number 1s 10 years later are:

Beyoncé
Britney
Christina
Jennifer Lopez
Shakira
Usher
Justin Timberlake

Adele might and maybe Lady Gaga depending on what sort of music she releases. Not sure about Rihanna though.

I would actually be curious to see which artists that are not so huge now, could have their big time success in the future.
