It's not really a good sign that the two who most fit the mould of the last few winners (Colton and Phillip) are the only two not to be near the bottom and are probably on course to be the final two. :yawn: This show needs something fresh.

Two will have to go home next week, and Jessica will likely get a boost of votes after falling so hard this week. Could be an eventful show next week too.

I knew something was up. As I looked at AI betting on oddschecker yesterday evening out of curiosity
(before the results show in the US), and Jessica had strangely dropped down from fave to win to 2nd/3rd. Possible leak?
I had a bad feeling when I saw that.

Colton is the *fit* mode loved by a lot of females. Phillip isn't bad looking either.Colton's competition was Jessica, so she had to go. Even if Jessica goes, she'll get a deal, no doubt about that, and probably do better than any of them, bless her socks.

I think there will only be one eviction next week. Jermaine's early departure means the show is only now back to the correct number for this stage...if I've done my sums correctly.

Judging by the screams from the crowd, they are definitely getting the girls votes. I just wish that if they do make the final 2 then I could be sure it was based on their talent, but it clearly isn't. Seems unfair to the other acts tbh.

Could have happily seen Jessica go- she's a decent enough singer but doesn't move me at all. A bit like how I regarded Pia and Syesha in their respective seasons.

Jessica sang a pretty unknown song didn't she? Therefore I am not surprised Jessica technically went. They were going to use the save on Elise? Why she is obviously disliked by the public as she has been in the bottom 3 quite a lot so why keep her? I reckon Jessica could go next week as if the US have kicked her off once then they will do again.

I know! I was whiz zing through her save song and was like what's going on here when they stopped her song and all the contestants were hugging her, I don't think I have ever seen anything like that on Idol before

Completely agree here. And the way the judges said they'd use the save before even knowing which of the three was going home was ridiculous and if you didn't already know who thier chosen two are well you do now. The way they immediately insulted the other 4 contestants by saying those three were the wrong bottom 3 and also the American public who are voting was terrible. Didn't they say on performance night to "vote for your favourite" when Ryan asked who they think is in trouble? Then results show comes and they contradict themselves by saying "You got it wrong". And the faces on them when they were told who the bottom three were was brilliant, Jennifer Who-pez looked like she'd been slapped in the face ten times. But storming the stage saying "of course we gonna use the save" and acting all desperate was so cringeworthy and very bad TV. And then Randy tops it off with "You gotta vote for the best, please vote for the best" "Jessica you are one of the best singers in America" blah blah blah. Well clearly America disagreed so you, judges should respect that. And more confirmation they want a Jessica and Joshua final.

Oh yeah and that Jimmy voice coach person saying Hollie should be in the bottom three. What the hell? He told her she'd do well singing Pink's song and then copies the judges and slates her and his other picks for the bottom three were completely wrong.

He won't be trying uptempo again, I think they will choose another song like 'When A Man Loves A Woman' to show him at his best next week.

I think we knew they would use the 'save' if ever Joshua or Jessica were in bottom position - I'm not sure they would have used it on Elise. I think she would have gone and they would have saved the 'save' for next week .

I thought that everybody was pretty good to be fair. There wasn't anybody really terrible so any of them could have been the bottom three.

For me, Jessica and Joshua are the best singers, but possibly their song choices put people off. Those up tempo songs like the one Joshua did don't always go down well and I didn't like Jessica's song at all. Maybe people assumed she was safe and didn't bother to vote.

I think the final will be Colton and Philip as they are both the type that usually end up winning. I think Colton will win.

Fair enough to your two favourites (coincidentally same as judges) but putting a Singers tag with them is not entirely correct. Jessica did sing but recently has turned into Joshua and just shouts/screeches now. But the judges did tell the viewers to vote for thier favourite and clearly Jessica wasn't so must say something.

See, I thought Jessica and Joshua were really good - I liked them right from Hollywood week. I prefer their shouty style to the style of anyone else left in the competition.

For Jessica this week, the song had no real melody and was all over the place, so maybe that put her usual voters off. And Joshua's song was not good either. I still like them as singers (or shouters!) though.

I thought Jessica was rubbish in the top 25 round as she was terrible but then she got a Whitney song and the last spot on the top 13 night so got through based on whose song it was really. Yes she did sing it well but it was how big the song is that really got her the votes. And since then she has been progressively worse week on week.

I know some songs need little shouty bits in them but Jessica and especially Joshua overdo it and it is basically all the way through which ruins it. Skylar does it as well but recently they have been giving her songs where she hasn't been doing it all the way from start to finish.
