Bit disrespectful to the public it's not about who the judges like it's about who the public vote for. Think this is why I stopped watching although I did enjoy Steve last year.

Only episodes I have watched this season are this week's live & results and didn't really like anyone!

I recognised that Deandre that went home last week and Hollie(?) that is there from before.

hiya. I havent seen the results show but know what happened. I do understand the judges save since anyone can had a duff week (although you wouldn't expect her to win it now I guess).

Which do you prefer out of the american one save a season or the UK one saved from the bottom two? (no save isn't an option!)

I thought it was also disrespectful for the four that were safe to protest so loud that it was the TOTALLY wrong bottom three

The public will vote how they like.
The other 4 had more support from the american public...

TOUGH if the judges don't approve

All of the remaining contestans are good in their own way. There is no totally bad left anymore. So it can go anyway now....

Quite frankly I think the whole idea of a judge's save is wrong

It's like they are sticking the middle finger up to the public and saying "You sad little proles didn't vote for the people we wanted you to so we're going to save them anyway"

I agree. Not seen the results show yet but I'm pleased for Hollie that she escaped bottom 3. I can imagine how pissed the judges will be.

If the judges thought it was totally wrong - I wonder who they thought it should be? Hollie, Skylar and who else?

It was a weak week for Jessica so I'm pleased she got called out for it. Many of the contestants are coasting along, only a few like Hollie and Elise are needing to fight to prove themselves each week. Joshua in bottom 3 I am more surprised about, but it sort of proves what I thought, that Colton and Philip are the front-runners. Even though Philip doesn't deserve to be I don't think.

If i'm honest i'm not surprised by who the bottom 3 were. A couple of the american forums that I post on have been complaining for weeks about the judges and the show in general trying to force a certain final.

I prefer the 1 save but think it shouldn't be used beyond a couple of weeks in, the UK 1 certainly has it faults with the same people being saved each week.

Their comments were just so out of order and although it isn't the person's fault who was saved I would be inclined to vote for someone other than her to stick 2 fingers back up at the judges.

I knew right away that the group where Colton is will be safe. I think he can win it all. He is exactly the type that does well in AI.

But the judges love Joshua and Jessica so much that it doesn't register in their brain that they could be in danger. HAH, well in your face judges.

I felt so sorry for the other 4 when they were screaming you have to vote for the BEST singers. As if the 4 others would be so much worse.....

It's been 5 years now since a female last won AI and I'm beginning to think that it's not gonna happen this year either....

At the end of the day, american public is not that stupid that they would be so easily manipulated. Let's just remember the likes of Katharine McPhee and Melissa Doolittle. No matter how much they were praised the voters voted like they wanted to.....

Or Scott Savol, the judges wanted HIM out, but he stuck it out to 5th place..... And don't even get me started on Sanjay..... And even now Heejun.

Completely agree. I almost jumped for joy when I checked the results online this morning. Did not jump for joy when I saw how the judges reacted though. Spoilers just in case...

Spoiler
It just all but said they want a Joshua and Jessica final. So glad for Hollie that she was out of the bottom three, she didn't deserve to be in it IMO.

Like you said, everyone has opinions. The voting public disagreed with the judges. Not only did the judges disrespect the top 4, they all disrespected the voters too but saying they got it wrong.

Yeah and with your spoiler comment...
Spoiler
Jennifer Who-pez said when Joshua and Jessica did a duet before about "are we seeing the... final?" and that really annoyed me as they stated right then that they want those two.

I agree the judges should be a little less forceful in their opinions about the result, but then again the whole thing is set up for them to disagree or they wouldn't have the power to go against the public view and save someone.

I'm a big fan of Joshua (and Jessica), but I knew he might be in trouble, and posted that in a review thread after seeing the performances. It wasn't that he didn't sing well, it was because the song was such a change, too much of a change of genre for him, and what fans he have may not have conscientiously felt like voting for him. Steven Tyler's remark about getting a girl's phone number, which I think Ryan followed up when Joshua's father was brought on stage, may also have had an effect with some of his fans, because this is supposed to be a wholesome middle-class Baptist boy (and it may even have brought Joshua's sexuality into question). Altogether it was too much of an about-change in genre/image for viewers to adjust to.

The biggest shock by far is Jessica. Most of her fans, myself included, would probably suggest Stuttering was one of her best performances, certainly the most confident and technically proficient she's done, and she looked great too. Perhaps it really was down to the obscurity of the song, but I have another theory, and again I have voiced this before as my only concern about her chances of winning or even making it to the Final, and that is race. Her VT would have worked to remind viewers of her racial background by showing footage of her large Philippino family. That and her talk of having "millions of relations over here", all rooting for her, may not have sat well with the floating voter element in central America.

Elise turned in a performance similar to week 1, where she started off well at a piano then sounded dog rough when she stood up and started oversinging. That and the way she's been in the bottom 3 so many times all added to her fate. She needs to be near perfect every week to escape it.

Hollie, Phillip and maybe Skylar. Definitely Hollie and Phillip as they were most critical to those two last night. But they praised the rest to the heavens so someone was going to be there 'wrongly'.

The problem they have is they're over-pimping Elise. If Hollie had put in that kind of performance she would've been slaughtered for it and the public know this, hence she's getting the sympathy vote. Phillip seems to be getting more depressed as the season goes on so people are probably feeling sorry for him. Colton and Skylar arguably did their best performances to date and are both growing into the competition so I wasn't the least bit surprised to see them safe.

It's funny because I've always seen Josh as fodder - i didn't realise I was supposed to think he was good!

The josh/dancer this was awful (I think tyler doesn't realise josh is gay, not kitsch) and when then goodlooking boy came on the big screen who asked Hollie on a date, I'm pretty saw Josh made some comment about him (mic not on) lol.

I agree about elise sounding rough. I think she looks rough too I know that sounds cruel but i just don't think idol i the place for her. I also didn't like her attitude much about being in b3. I understand she was probably just nervous, and quite frankly she is lucky she got the chance to be on the show and should be thankful at how far she's got.

interesting about jessica and her race - is the average voter racist, ie, how likely is it to affect her vote?

What a scrappy mess the judges made of the ending!
First letting slip that that save was going to be used at the bottom 3 stage.
Then criticizing the public, forgetting that they too are actually voting to save their favourites.
Then for no good reason interrupting the poor girl in mid-song, after all she knew she was going to be saved!

In short, the judges need to sort themselves out. Whilst the contestants behave with poise and professionalism, the judges are becoming a shambles.

Don't forget about Randy's speech and him stating you MUST vote for the BEST so admitting they think Jessica has to be in the final. The way the judges have been acting this year makes me wonder if it is the real thing or a parody version. The biggest mistake you can make on a show where the public votes is slag off the voters of that show. I actually want the bottom three to be the same with the same result just so the judges can cry and do another outburst of the voters getting it wrong.

I've ony just watched the results show and I must be about the only person who thinks Randy was spot on when he said Jessica is one of the best singers in America, although he will have done more harm than good with that little show of partiality. I personally think Jessica is phenomenal, but she's got no chance of winning for the reasons given by Ribtickle, controversial perhaps, but I would tend to agree.

I reckon it's a two-horse race, Colton and Phillip - I don't think either of them are particularly amazing though:yawn:.

The ending was nothing but to add just a more dramatic feeling into the whole "judges shock" to the bottom three.

They made it all about themselves again. Running to the stage as a "united front" to show America how strongly they disagree with how they voted. The god-all-mighty Jennifer stealing the limelight out of Jessica running and making sure she will be the first one to speak.

If anything, I hope the judges ridiculous outburst has made american voters even more angry at them for trying to forcefeed a certain outcome.

FOR CRYING OUT THIS IS CRAZY, GIVE ME THAT MIC. HOW DARE YOU VOTERS DO THIS TO HER!!!!!!!!!
SHE IS ONE OF THE BEST...........SINGERS..........EVER............IN............AMERICA!!!!!!!

Well, the judges totally are crazy. How dare they to disrespect the other contestants like that

And then sending her back to the others, then asking her back to give her special hugs and to end the show with the judges worshipping her on their seats when she sang.... It was really annoying.

I've never really warmed to Jessica. She seems a lovely girl and is technically good. But with the exception of "Sweet Dreams" which I thought was great I haven't really been that impressed by her peformances and just thought that they were decent. I felt the same way with Pia last year.

Doesn't mean that I don't find her talented. She definitely is but she just doesn't do it for me. I wish her all the best though.

I'm the same. She's obviously a great singer, it's just I find her performances leave me a bit cold, I don't feel anything from her when she sings - which is the most important thing when it comes to music for me. I think with her everything is a bit too technical and a bit too placed, so it just lacks emotion.

Pia is definitely far above Jessica in singing ability. Jessica isn't a great singer, the judges and the show keep trying to force it onto us that she and Joshua are but they aren't. It is just like they want Hollie out and so keep insulting her the last three weeks.

I agree with pretty much everything here - the whole thing was embarassing to watch. The way Jennifer yanked the mic out of Jessica's hand and told her to piss off back to the couches was horrible. If she had put her arm around Jessica and just said that she was saved it would've been better, but I guess that would've meant less camera time for her

As for Randy, I like Jessica but calling her one of the best singers in America EVER was just stupid. I really hope he's gone next year - I'm pretty sure he was only kept around to keep some sort of familiarity for people who missed the original panel but enough is enough.

Hi, I have just finished watching the results show, I try not to look to see who has gone out till i watch the show. I was surprised with the bottom three, but not a lot, The judges seem to tell u who to vote for.

Everyone has different tastes in music and therefore will vote for who is there favourite.

For judges to sit there and "Judge" the American public for voting for their favourite act. Is not on.

They are not doing Jesica any favours by putting her up on a pedestal and saying the wrong three were in the bottom. Then saying they are going to use their save before any of the other 3 had actually sang. While Elise has been in the bottom three before, they have not said we are going to use our save. If it had been Elise with the fewest votes would they have used their save?

They insulted the other four contestants by doing this is was like saying they did not deserve to be there.

I like Phillip but think he did not have a good week, but I am pleased he went through. I also like Skylar and Colton.

Jescica is a lovely singer but not my cup of tea.

Yes and the funny thing being those same judges saying on performance night to vote for your favourite then result night go "you got it wrong" because thier own two chosen ones were in bottom three with one of them supposed to go home. Why contradict yourselves?
