Samsung 2012 models - Smart TV Question

Hello, I was wondering if there are any people here who has one of the new Samsung 2012 TV's (the ES series) with their Smart TV features.

The reason I was wondering is this TV really interests me, and a review from CNET UK suggested that it was one of the few TV's internet browsers that accept and work with Adobe Flash.
http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/tvs/samsun...view-50007245/

Although the review only suggests it seems to work with many flash based video websites, it doesn't actually mention if it works with the big main UK ones. i.e. iPlayer and in particular (since the device has an iPlayer app) 4OD and ITV.

Has anyone who has one of the new 2012 Samsung TV's tested 4OD & ITV on the TV's browser?

I guess not too many people have this TV out there, though I can see from the amount of views others seem to be interested.

Just been onto the Samsung site and looked at their new range and it seems as though the cinema's remained the same but just changed the model numbers for example HT-D5530/5550 has become HE-D5530/5550. As for their TV range I see no difference either (unless their site hasn't been updated yet).

I have the 55" D6530 and imo the tv has excellent PQ for both HD and 3D/BD but the sound is a real let down. I used to have the SRS Tru surround and Tru dialogue enabled but this causes the tv to vibrate something awful and gets annoying so I switched back to using my home cinema for sound.

Thanks for the input guys. I was looking at the D-series mentioned below but now that the ES series has just been released they interest me more. The main reason is "rumours" that the ES series has a better browser that also plays Flash video (something few other TV browsers do).

I am hoping this is speedy enough, and perhaps with the iPhone or iPad remote control, would also be user friendly enough for viewing ITV and possibly channel 4 on demand services.

The problem is, I can't test this, as nowhere close by has such a set in their shop that is actually connected to the internet and few seem inclined to do so (despite advertising them as Smart Internet connected TV's)

It is possible sites like ITV or channel 4's catchup services still don't work with the mentioned Samsung ES-series browser which is why I am hoping someone with this set can test it out for me.

I hope the browser on these models is better and easier to use than on the 2011 models. Inputting stuff using the remote control is a real pain. far too slow. A flip out qwerty or perhaps an optional keyboard/pad would have been far better.

Smart tv is ok for the likes of BBC iPlayer and some other apps but setting up of the initial account for FB and the like is dreadful using the remote

Exactly what I am hoping as well XxBlaKOuTZxX.

One review suggested it was, but didn't go in detail. It has been suggested it is easier to input stuff on the 2012 model browser also either by the touch remote (on the high end models) or via the Samsung iPad/iPhone/Android App which has of course a touch pad and keyboard.

I would hope someone who has this TV can test this out, especially with the ITV web page to also see if the video plays.

Was looking for a new Smart TV myself recently and narrowed it down to two choices - the Panasonic TXL42E5B (out February 2012) and the Samsung UE40ES5500 (out this April 2012). The "expert reviews" for the Panasonic were generally 8/10, but still not seen any for the Samsung yet?

Impatiently I went ahead and bought the Panasonic, just to find out it doesn't have a web browser - unlike the Samsung ES5500.
Are the various web browsers worth it and any good though, I wonder?

Trying to use a TV to browse the web is a pretty crap experience. To read the text from a normal viewing distance you have to zoom in so far that you constantly have to scroll the display. As for trying without a keyboard forget it. If the TV lacks flash player support - forget it.

My PS3 has a browser, after trying it I never use it.

Thanks for the input grahamlthompson. Maybe I won't be missing out on much, with my "web browser less" Panasonic TXL E5B series, after all then.
