People with mortgages have been favoured over savers (who fund mortgages) and will scream like a child when interest rates return to realistic levels.

Exactly. Would serve them right if we all spent every penny we have and then force the state to finance us for eternity. (Seems to work for a lot of people).

Alright double but I was bound to enjoy it because I love the Platts, I liked the way they encorporated the oldies into the story tonight
BUT the story is getting a bit tedious, I would've liked Kylie to show a bit more compassion for Aud
Thankfully, Karl & Sunita were a minor story
Like Tina & Tommy together
Leanne & Simon playing Guess Who was nice and pinocchio was a good choice of book
7/10

Better episodes tonight than of late thanks to gormless Karl and simpering Sunita being pushed to the sidelines slightly. I'm really enjoying the Platt story, generally because it involves the best family on the show (IMHO). I would have liked a little more Gail but other than that it was great to see the feud escalating in the way it did. Nice to see David showing a bit of compassion to his 'gran' even though Kylie appeared to be overpowering him. And it was nice to see Leanne and Simon reunited thanks to Ken, hopefully Peter will be turned eventually. The Tommy/Tina sub-plot is a bit meh, hopefully it will pick up when Terry comes on the scene.

Kylie's returned to form then? I really liked her during Becky's exit but her attitude with Audrey stinks. You'd think she'd have some compassion for her husband's gran! But no, she'll steal that shop from under her nose and trample over anyone (inc her husband) to get what she wants OK, Audrey was stupid to sign it over to David in the first place, even if it WAS for his benefit but he must have known the score? That morally it wasn't his until his gran either retired or died? Audrey should never have trusted him - with his history she should have known better but HE knows that he's effectively stealing now. About time he stood up to his wife methinks.

Oh and when Kylie said something about 'OUR' inheritance I could have punched my TV screen

I take it I'm not the only one who laughed out loud when Audrey was supposed to have knocked that great big policeman over? How stupid was that? As if! I was also a bit surprised to see that he didn't bother asking any details of what was going on, history etc, but just Kylie's word for it!

Stupid, stupid Peter. The person who is being most hurt by his stance is his own son. Whether Peter likes it or not that kid loves Leanne - and it has to be said that most of the time she has a good effect on him, he was much more bearable in last night's episodes.

Can't muster up much enthusiasm for Tina and Tommy - I can't help but think he's just another notch on her bedpost! Is there a young, decent looking fella on that street that she hasn't had? But she should butt about a bit regarding his money - most lads of his age would have been straight out buying a massive TV! But how has he got his hands on that money already? Was it stashed under the mattress? And I'm also a bit disgusted that he hasn't spent more time with his Grandmother in her hour of need - this woman brought him up (OK, bought him off Terry but she still raised him) and deserves better treatment IMO.

Can I dare to hope that the seedy storyline of Karl and Sunita is finally over? Ugh, there's something inherently 'dirty' about that man - and I don't mean in the good sense!

I don't mind what they're doing, but she did go a bit far in gloating over Audrey's arrest. I thought at that point she'd tone back a bit.

Peter is quite selfish, though, so it's not overly surprising. I can't see that setup lasting too long, Carla is already tiring of it and Simon doesn't like it either. Maybe Carla will get bored of Peter soon too, since she only loves what she can't have

Is Tommy all that 'decent'? Haha. He seems like a bit of a player, but Weatherfield is somewhat lacking in the twenteen-ish females (Kirsty and Kylie are both already taken) so it's hard to say for sure.

It would be a bit too short for a soap affair - usually they are dragged out over weeks. Not sure why Sunita was used; her personality is blandy and not really the affair type. If she was so tired of Dev, she would probably just leave him again, like she did before.

Well at first I thought that Audrey was a bit out of order. I don't think you should sign something over to someone then expect them to sign it back to you! However the more I've thought about it the more I think that David must be in the wrong as surely they had an arrangement/agreement? He 'officially' owned it so that he wouldn't lose out once his gran died (so she was doing him a favour - a ready made business, very nice) but unofficially she still ran the show? And now Kylie's disgusting attitude has me backing Audrey all the way (even though I think she was stupid trusting David in the first place).

At the end of the day, surely Audrey's house is worth more than the business? It's a good size in a what looks like a nice area. She could sell up and 'downsize' leaving herself plenty of cash to spend on her 'fancy man' (or conman if you're asking Gail!) plus bequeathing the new house/flat/bungalow to him so if I was Gail and David I'd be more bothered about THAT than a small hairdressing salon!

Well, he's OK isn't he? I'm a lot older than him and he wouldn't have been my type when I was young but he's hardly been hit with the ugly stick TBH I was going to say that she'd been with every younger fella but then I remembered she hadn't been with Kirk so that's why I said decent looking *slaps self for being nasty*

Agreed! Vampy Sunita was a bit hard to get my head round. Where had she been hiding all these cleavage busting clothes?! And although the most surprising married people can have affairs/one night stands personally I'd have thought she'd have chosen someone better than Karl! Ugh, he's a sleaze IMO.

It will be interesting to see how she is with Dev now though. Will she still be like a bear with a sore head or be nice because she's feeling guilty?

Hi Lotteh,

How's Mr L today? Hope he's home now or very soon?

Glad to see you're keeping up with all the drama on Corrie ()and glad you saw the scene of the year where Audreh flattened the copper. Hahaha! David's being a little sh1t at the moment, but if the spoilers are to be believed, he'll see his mistakes soon, even if Kylie doesn't.

I think david is doing it for the right reasons, he thinks lewis is gonna run off with all his grans money. Kylie isn`t though. She has always wanted the salon. What i don`t understand is how they can claim to now own it. David only gets it when audrey either retires or dies otherwise they could have took over the salon months ago.

I'm not sure how this type of contract works, but couldn't she have done a joint partnership? If she kept 50.1% of the business she would be the majority shareholder and so legally she could have stopped David from the lock-out, and then when she conked it presumably she could have just left him the rest then.

And, well, unofficial arrangements are just that, I thought she was going to slow down over time and let David have more responsibility over time, but I don't remember what was explicitly said.

If the scene with Dev being all 'I love you Sunita, even though I'm an idiot sometimes!' is anything to go by, she'll probably bite her lip for a while and offload on Karl when Dev gets annoying again. And yeah, I don't see where Sunita and Karl came from, at all, it's not like Karl is some endearing bad boy, he's an addicted gambler who admitted to her that he keeps eyes on a lot of women (which didn't seem to bother her - it should!)

It's not just a small hairdressing salon though. It's a newish building with a flat above. Who actually owns the building, especially the flat.?

I totally agree about Kylie. Rebecca would be ashamed of her

Taking this storyline purely as entertainment, I'm finding it great fun and backing D & K simply because I like them as a team. And we mustn't forget the reason for it all - they believe that Audrey is making a fool of herself with Lewis and damaging their inheritance. I'm assuming that Audrey intends to take out a mortgage on the salon? Which will have to be paid back - undermining the profits. It seems that doing the same on her house is just too obvious, and wouldn't cause anywhere near as much mayhem.
Bit underlined - I always thought it was sheer lunancy.

I agree with why David won't sign it back, as intentionally or not, Lewis would waste Audrey's money and she has her retirement years to think of. But I think David has gone way to far with how he's acting now. He had no right to change the name etc, but that is because he's being egged on by Kylie. So actually I think it's Kylie who's most in the wrong here.
