Potential Phone Stolen

Hi all.

Need some advice please.

I am supposed to be having a mobile phone delivered today via HDNL (Yodel). Been up since 7.30am waiting, and have just checked the tracker which says its been delivered to the mailbox! We don't have a mailbox, the only thing I can think of is they have delivered it to the house down the road which has a similar name to ours. Problem with that is, that home is empty and up for sale...

I will be popping round the estate agents shortly to find out if they can get someone to check before i contact Amazon.
Yodel are awful, i had a similar problem last year when i purchased my SGS2, and i put the hassle down to dodgy delivery drivers.

If it's not there, i'll report it to Amazon and see if they can investigate. What happens to my order though? Will i get a replacement? Will the delivery guy get away with it if it is that the phone has gone missing? I read on other websites amazon can't get the original blocked as they aren't a carrier, is this true? I really don't want one of these scumbags feeding off my hard earned money.

Cheers,
Luke.

Don't things have to be signed for ? If he has delivered it to the wrong house then someone would have signed for it. If the house is empty and obviously empty then the courier should have asked the perso for Id . Can't see a courier stealing the phone as he wouldn't know what was in the parcel and why would he/she risk losing their job?

The house isnt "obviously empty" though.
You haven't seen some of the scraggers who deliver around here! Plus, last year my sgs2 tracking status was "attempted delivery" 3 days in a row, however, there was no attempted deliver as I was in sat in the living room waiting for each of those days! Eventualy i went down to the depot and the driver was out delivering, i insisted they brought the driver back to the depot since he was in the area which they obliged to do. When the driver got back, he hardly spoke a word of english, had a plain white van (is this normal for a courier? do they employ contractors to delivery?), and when he eventually gave me the phone, he then said to the depot manager he was done for the day - this being at 10.30am on a Friday morning... Does this sound like a trustworthy company and/or a trustworthy delivery driver?

You see why i have no faith...

Yes it is supposed to be signed for, it was ordered with an £8.99 delivery charge for next day delivery.

Rename your house to something completely different to the other one.

Problem solved.

Thank you very much.

As for your missing phone, amazon will have to demonstrate that their courier successfully delivered the phone to you or they will need to replace it or refund you.

Don't stress. It might take a bit of time, but it'll all work out.

Will amazon block the stolen phone if it is actually stolen?
