How do you access things like drop down menus that would normally appear when you placed the mouse cursor over them? How does this work on a touch screen like the ipad?

Like on this site for eg: http://www.dpreview.com/ Try the menus at the top

That might work on the iPad, but it doesn't on my Xoom.
Pressing and holding just brings up the menu for saving images etc.
You just have to click and hope for the best.

Sometimes the drop-down list works, and sometimes not, depending on the website.
In the example site the drop-down list appears momentarily, but then it just goes to the main link.

It varies by browser, actually. I like how Chrome does it, it autozooms the screen area you are trying to touch.

Works every time on my Xoom. Just tap and a drop down box appears. I just use the stock browser.

Get a Transformer with a keypad - then plug in a USB mouse.

Easy.
