Nobody knows really...quite petty just snubbing certain artists for silly reasons...

I know it's so annoying Capital in Scotland play the same songs literally every hour was in the car going to England and was tuned into Capital Scotland for about 1 hour and a bit and I heard Jessie J Domino twice. Just checked on that compare my radio website and Capital have only played 173 unique tracks in the past 31 days were as another local station for me Clyde 1 has played 649 and both are Top 40 Stations.

Capital Radio is part of Global Radio http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Radio
Global [ http://www.thisisglobal.com/ ] also have publishing & talent divisions.If any artist have ongoing management / promotion deals OR have publishing contracts with Global then they favour them as far as airplay goes.It seems to be very difficult to find out (searching through the internet browser) who has contracts with 'Global'.It's all about self promoting a % of their own product.
As you may know, every time a single gets played on a air, a music licensing fee is paid to the copyright holder [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_licensing ].It sounds like if an artist has a publishing / management / promotion deal with 'Global' they can pay themselves a % of that licensing fee ?? (there is a % reduction of the licensing fee with the copyright holder ??).It's all a way of keeping their costs down really & having a commercial advantage over their competitors, although Global Radio is still loosing money (on paper ) http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011...bal-radio-loss .Don't think this was the way the licensing was set out to work really.Not sure I agree with the Licencing Fee / radio airplay idea at all these days in the context of how the modern music industry works in the digital age.

extract from above :-
Our current roster includes the hit maker Talay Riley (Chipmunk, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J);

Thank goodness its not just me, I avoid capital at costs, the same songs ovr and over and any NEW song that they want to promote gets all their attention

Im not sire how they claim to be the hot or number 1 radio station, they are embarrassing. In saying that there is one in every country in Australia its 2dayfm, with the same claims but everyone hates them

I used to listen to Capital and loved it, every morning, but now I've given up because I'm fed up of the same old boring songs (Domino, Good Feeling, etc.) The breakfast show is the worst for playing really old songs. I listen to Radio 1 now which I think is much better for good, new pop music, especially in the mornings.

Nice to see they're supporting fresh talent.

Oh wait, Jessie J again.

Would you believe it, there's Domino again.

Hasn't that been-and-gone in the charts months ago?!
