The Legend of Korra: (US Pace)
The Legend of Korra is the series sequel to Aang / Avatar the Last Airbender. It premiered Saturday April 14, 2012 in the States on the Kickelodeon television network.
Official website: http://www.nick.com/shows/legend-of-korra/ I thought it was quite good. The animation has a different feel than the "Aang / Avatar the Last Airbender" series. I'd say the animation was even better than AtLAb(Aang / Avatar the Last Airbender) |

I saw the earlier preview of the first two episodes. I thought the first episode was good, as it set up the story plots and the animation (as expected) was fine. I like Korra, she's feisty and has a lot to learn on her journey to becoming the Avatar. I didn't enjoy the second episode at all, as the bendening sport, didn't interest me. If there was to be a bending sport/competetion, then i would have preferred underground fighting, and benders using a drug that heightened their bending abilities to dangerous levels.
Anyway, the show looks promising but i 'm yet to be convinced it can surpass it's predecessor. |

The original series was past my time but I did watch it and although silly in places since it is aimed at children I thought it was an excellent animated series. I've watched the 2 preview episodes and I think Korra looks fantastic. The themes that it's introducing sound very interesting and so far the series feels a little more mature.

It does come off as more mature than AtLAb but it still is a kids show.
I hope the writing stays sharp with subtle adult references and humour. Lets face it, with an attractively drawn seventeen year-old girl as the protagonist there has to be a little wink-wink-nod-nod hidden through-out by the mostly male creators of this show. AtLAb had plenty of romance through-out but it also included real-life mature themes with teenagers making-out, the loss of a family member and even pregnancy. |

Wow, I just watched episode 3 and it's pretty adult in it's style and theme. It almost feels like the show is designed for fans or the original that have grown up a bit. Grounding the show is some reality as explained by Amon is really interesting.

The third episode has been my most enjoyable yet. I don't believe Amon has the ability to take away benders ability, he paid the triple threat gang to pretend they lost their bending. That way it give's the people hope, strenghting his cause. Also, i was hoping he wore a mask, to conceal his identidy, not because of a facial disfugurement. I think the show is opening up now and can go in a few different directions, that i hadn't originally envisioned. |

Aang's Avatar state was Ch'i Blocked by Azula's lightning hit at his mid-spine until his battle with the "Fire-Lord" and was released when his Blocked-Ch'i pressure-point was released by the rocky point hit at his spine.

I really love this show, the interesting, dark and also sweet story telling. I especially like the early 20th century type setting.

I thought this week's episode was rather light hearted - focusing on their relationships and love interests. I thought Bowlin's reaction to Korra and Mako kissing was pathetic, he seemed crushed. A complete over reaction. I thought it was sweet listening to Tenzin's kids talk about how to woo a man
I hope in the future there are more back-to-back story focused episodes. |

Late 80s China? It's very reminiscent of Shanghai of the time which was and still is a very western styled city.

This episode was the best of the series so far. Korra and Lin teaming up to fight against the Equalists and Amon showing effortless skill to fend of the benders in the arena, was all very excitng. Plus, some additional flashbacks, that i can't quite make sense f just yet...

"The Aftermath" was another excellent episode. I loved the reveal and twist at the end; the story works so well bringing focus of the overall arc of the season to a more personal level.

Also, it's going to be interesting seeing Lin operate outside the law, seeking vengenance for her fallen soliders. |

Wow! The show just seems to get better each episode. The fight sequence at the end was really edge of the seat stuff!

Well the origin of Tarrlok's ability was cleared up; it would have been nice to drag out that storyline a little more but I generally like the more condensed nature of the series so far.
I thought episode 9, Out of the Past, was excellent and continued the consistent high quality of the series; although I felt it was a slight dip on the previous episode and

The series continues to be superb with great action and drama. I hope the finale lives up to the rest of the season!

All in all, really awesome season finale, and can't wait until next season. |
