Amazon, Play.com, even HMV sometimes as they all have large online music stores.

However often the price is set by the record company so they may not be cheaper than ITunes depending on whether or not they have any promotions running.

I have used a comparison site for buying CDs with some success, but they are not so good at showing all of the download deals.

You can also just buy a cd and use iTunes to rip it and put it on your iPad.

And most likely cheaper too. I ordered a few CDs from Play today all for under a fiver (including a double) and then found a gem in a charity shop for £2.

I often use Tune Checker. I found out about it from the Money Saving Expert website. Amazon and Tune Tribe are fairly cheap with legal mp3 downloads IMO and often cheaper than i tunes.

Bye for now

iPad will accept MP3, but I think you will have to download to PC/laptop then drag and drop via iTunes.

Don't you have a PC/Laptop you could download it to?
Just out of interest, how much extra was it on iTunes?

Have you not been given a download link in an email?
Or even log into your Play.com account and see if there's anything there.
Once you've got it on your laptop, you open up iTunes on your laptop, drag and drop the Mp3 into the iTunes library then connect your iPad to your laptop and sync with iTunes.

HDMI, as Gonzo said it's very easy to get the files onto your iPad, assuming you can download them to the laptop.

Have you never synced anything before?

It's easy to transfer them.

Download the MP3 files to your laptop/PC, launch Itunes, find the folder with the MP3 files and let Itunes load them in (or just select all of the files in a window and drag them to the iTunes icon. It "should" add the tags (artists name, track name etc.) if iTunes is set to download the information. Once that's done connect your iPad and sync. You should see the iPad show up as a connected device on the left, find your music, playlist or individual tracks, select them and then click "APPLY" at the bottom.

You need to open iTunes on your laptop and drag the file to the library.
